  1. You're welcome!
  2. Mine's the same, styrene with scratched in matrix.
  3. Well funk me, I've been having the time of my life, getting excited and dancing at niters to a crock o'shite for the last couple of years Note to self ; you really need to get a grip/life* * delete as appropriate
  4. How many titles were pressed on this label? Chandlers, General assembly etc Any other info? who did em, when (seem to remember buying the chandlers around 79) Also when pressings were mainly done to look like US releases, why were certain ones done UK style? Any info appreciated
  5. How many of these have you seen Bob? I thought it was ultra rare?
  6. Makes you wonder what happened to them all Cliff
  7. You're probably right Simon, it could have done with a while longer I suppose but it is becoming a tad overplayed now Still I'll be buying one, I wonder if this will become accepted by the masses?
  8. Same for me Pete, I think we're the same age. I've still got my copy of this (only because I couldnt sell it if I tried) and would have danced to it aged 14 - there I've admitted it ( Hope you wont view me in a different light now Steve ) Also still got the Bo Donaldson which I bought back then

  10. I've always liked the bit in Heart Trouble when the plumber tells him the water on his floor isnt from a leaking sink but from his tears!
  11. A Bit harsh mate, maybe he's so devastated he cant function since she left Never been able to make out any of those lyrics though having been listening to the record for over 30 years Nice one

Simmo at the 100 club Lee? Crikey!
  13. I think so Bob, the black magic label issued a load of tailor made ( and other dodgy) stuff in the mid 70s to cash in on the Northern scene at its height. I'm sure Pete Smith will have more detail on this particular one
  14. Yeah the record in question is styrene
  15. Thanks for the replies The record in question is identical to brooky's scan, the person who bought it has queried it on the basis that it no matrix stamp.
  16. Got a slight issue with one of these I've just sold Its an issue and Its got a large 45 but no stamped in matrix According to my research there isnt a bootleg of this just a reissue with a small 45. Also in Tim browns guide he states that not all OKEH originals have a stamped matrix? Any info appreciated
  17. My learned friend is correct, for me the "Burnley sound" is more to do with the ethos of the venue than particular records. Some venues can play a variety of styles and tempos but Burnley has (mostly) been about up-tempo, driving dance music, mainly 60s soul but some with a funky edge.
  18. Thanks Pete
  19. Off topic so apologies but Pete did any of the old articles you wrote have any more details about this kind of stuff? A subject I find interesting and would love to learn more about the who, where , why etc.
  20. Dont do it Simon, great record that needs playing more. Cant understand why this isnt big at the oldies veues?
  21. Yeah in a few years we'll need a jump start to get going
  22. Great subject for a thread Derek, love to see/collect them Any more unusual/rare ones out there?
