  1. Also, slightly off topic - I've posted wants before stating record must be M- and I'm willing to pay x pounds, to be met with PM's offering VG+ / Ex copies for x+10/20/30 pounds
  2. Not all unfortunately, bought a M- record once which looked like it had been skated over. The sellers excuse for gradeing it M- was that it was the best copy of that particular record he'd seen/had
  3. Its all about opinions and Butch is unquestionably no 1 in mine. Also its him who JM is referring to isnt it?
  4. Me either  chantells & aqua lads, psychedelic??
  5. Look at his other items, he's just made a mistake with the decimal point
  6. Ric Tic sleeves? Didn't know they existed
  7. There is a bootleg of this, just bought one which was described as orig. Its vinyl and has a wide run out about 5 or 6 turns with scratched in matrix. Orig is styrene
  8. Check out ROBSBIGCITYSOUL corkin' videos to go with the tunes
  9. Yeah but its not 1975, we've all grown up and matured and should now be able to see the wood from the trees. Its defies belief that something like this could be played when you think of all the quality records that, as Joe says, are criminally overlooked/ignored. Today is the first time I've heard this BTW, thank god I dont go to venues where it would be played
  10. I can see both sides of this argument mate I could have bought the Parliaments - Heart Trouble for 50p off Rob Smith in 1978 but didn't, bought loads of pressing from Sid booths in Mansfield though for 85p during those years. It was just what we did as naive teenagers
  11. Whats this a labour party discussion on equality? Maybe we should have the correct quota of ethnic minority, disabled or gay DJ's Its simple, if you havent got the records DONT PRETEND TO BE A DJ
  12. I'm 5 short of the set, only took me 35 years to get that far Wonder if I'll complete em before I kick the bucket
  13. Billy try and get the one with Loving You on the other side - great double sider
  14. Yeah very funny if you've got $888 to waste, most of us haven't
  15. I wanted ALL of em
  16. No Kev meant Tailor made, or something recorded recently and made to seem like an old record ala four vandals
  17. I prefer When We get There to I Cant Help Loving You
  18. Neutral ground/year zero - Ground zero? Lets have an atomic revolution?
  19. No but its the end of the world in a few hours so the bidder is probably convinced he won't really have to pay for it
  20. Who knows mate, in the last week or two I've seen a Little Joe Roman pressing go for £80 and £12 Got £3 for mine a few years ago
  21. Quite true Paul but its the £1 ones that make me wince Got an old Rob Smith list with Parliaments - Heart Trouble at 50p They're the painful ones, not necessarily big rarities but ones you could have easily afforded at the time
  22. Its quite hard for us old 'uns as well
  23. That is the crux of the problem, DJ's are terrified to play a record that might have a lesser number of people dancing or, god forbid, empty the floor completely. The main criteria for a good/banging/stonking night is a full floor from start to finish and anything less is considered failure and as Dekka says leaves the DJ open to ridicule or even abuse. Until this attitude changes its groundhog day as usual for most. On a positive note I have spoken to people who frequent oldies venues recently who are getting fed up over constantly hearing the same records but obviously not enough to make a difference yet.
  24. 80% of it still plays what more do you want?
