  1. I can't stand modern sounds, anything which tastes computerized, dialogic. Sounds fake and unsincere. It's stroger than me. It's not a pose
  2. Nobody's got a copy?
  3. Hi all, does anybody have one for sale? Please quote price and conditions when contacting. Best regards, Andrea

  5. Hi all, I'm planing to come to England to watch the new movie. Which cinemas will show it? Will it be shown throughout the UK at the same time? Will there be any event which will accompany the premiérè? I can't wait.... All the best, Andrea
  6. So if I had gone to the casino and had said I had come from abroad they would have let me play dj ;)!
  7. I think it's all a fictional trick.... it's more appealing for the public if you present a story where all the movement suddenly disappeared for 20 years.... it's just a matter of the format of the "story" they found to make this new tv product interesting....
  8. Hi all, watched it. I'm too young and it's not that long that I attend nighters so I cannot give a proper opinion on the documentary. But to me it sounds a bit like that they have found somekind of a format where to fit "this is northern soul" which makes things easer to understand for "normal" public. Things are far more complex and, fortunately, not as easily represented.... Andrea
  9. just to speed the tempo up with togetherness: the jewels "we got togetherness" the younghearts "a little togetherness"
  10. quick joey small is not that bad... I have a copy myself....
  11. two great great records.... does turley richards have nothing to do with betty lavette's "i fell good all over"? words and music look similar... didn't know this tune before. astonishing
  12. I've always regarded Thechnics 1210 as a great record player
  13. I think you need something more than 20£... I bought a terratec device for around 60£ which is a decent one (between the cheap ones) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TERRATEC-Convert-Records-or-Tapes-to-Digital-Files-/161324680911?pt=UK_Computing_Software_Software_SR&hash=item258fb346cf#ht_44wt_1142
  14. I have a Big Maybelle "I Can't Wait Any Longer" on CBS. I think the tune is even better produced than the one on rojak. How is it usually valued? 50ish?
  15. The dj should always be in tune with the crowd. At the same time he should be capable of playing something surprising too... I think. By the way, I like to play with people from the older generation asnd hear their opinions because I have a lot to learn and I have respect for their knowledge. But I think that it is also right that one (I mean a youngster) should now try to build his new scene as the others (the olders) did before....
  16. As somebody who attends nights I don't really care about the dj's age or about where he played before..
  17. I've seen people giving an exhibition in pubblic once... with teachers and pupils... that was very edifying IMO
  18. as i saw this thread a tune started in my head: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi3rQzcDl80
  19. I heard my copy tonight and tried to compare with those on you tube and I didn't spot this great difference.... but maybe if I'll ever have the chance to hear a token copy played live I would.... I prefer Decived too
  20. I have a copy on take 7. Is there that big difference in recording with the token issue? How much would you rate the take 7 issue? Andrea
  21. it's such a long time I'm looking for Ann Bogus and Roy Roberts (I know what to do) that in the meantime I've finished all the money I had to buy them... I have added in my list Reatha Reese in my list but still with no hopes of getting a copy.... maybe you meant even bigger lads....
  22. what about just playing good soul records, dance and being passionate about it? How many other ingredients you need?
  23. Where I live "normal" people like to dance more r'n'b than northern soul which they do not understand if they aren't in the scene... so dj's try to come towards their public. I did it a bit buying those records I said above which I like and can still have a northern edge. I don't speak on behalf of everybody but some people have the opinion I stated
  24. if I used to be pretty confident in saying that is R&B and that NS, now that I got into this thread I'm more confused than ever...
