  2. why on earth they had to block youtube in my office?!!
  3. Shirley Ellis sorted. Nobody has a spare copy of the Astors?
  4. Hi all, I'm looking for the following: Shirley Ellis - Soul Time (columbia or uk crb 202606) The Astors — Twilight Zone I have also few records to trade. All the best, Andrea
  5. So even if it's ano original it's dull? Mine should be a vynil white demo (no star as the boot). And it sounds great... bought it at the market prices from a reliable and well known seller so it sould be alright. I'm away at the moment. I'll post a pic as soon as i can.
  6. if I descover that mine is a boot I'm gonna drop myself out of the window.... i live on the 6th floor....
  7. Sorry for the silly question, but how can you can be sure one is vinyl and the other styrene?
  8. I have a copy which should be original but it's so similar to the boot... i can't wait to go back home and check the details in the run off...
  9. what about this then? it says it's an original... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shirley-Ellis-Soul-Time-EX-1967-NORTHERN-/191495165106?pt=UK_Records&hash=item2c960054b2#ht_101wt_1400
  10. Got it. Thank you!
  11. Hi all, does anybody know the price of the different issues? UK CBS seems to be more expensive than COLUMBIA one. Is there any difference in production? Cheers, Andrea
  12. well i think whatever it's good to attract people it's good in general... besides nobody would have asked you a certification issued by the casino which confirmed that...
  13. Hi there, things have changed and the old northern soul scene is dead and gone. However controvertial this may be, no subculture cannot be forever a way of life.. nowaday it's a way of socializing and a way of sharing an interest in a beatiful kind of music, alien to mainstream and the all embracing comercialization. Or at least that's the way i live it. all the best, andrea
  14. what about one on sassy with the pain is going deeper?
  15. I've always known that the gamble issue is more expensive than the sassy (the one i own). At least that's what it' on JM's guide
  16. I can't say mine on a historic point of view. But the scenes seem very different to me and personally I don't see myself in many things mods like
  17. I hate labels but… Northern Soul definitely does for me! If being into Northern Soul means, feeling something strong which appeals you from inside when listening to certain soulful tunes. being part of the crowd in a nighter can make you feel you have redeem you from a whole week of misery you cannot remain indifferent to soul music and you feel you have to go to the dance floor. The rest is just part of our times and passing things… in the end why care about what the others say or think? You cannot lead the life you want when giving too much importance to other people opinions
  18. Punters now generally wear polo/shirts, mocassins and normal trousers, a bit of 60/70 fashion and it's not so common to see buggies... you don't have to wear them but it's romantic in a way. And in the end, how could you not be nostalgic with all the sh**t you see these days? Discos, concerts, music, fashions, styles, bands, magazines are all so meaningless. Youth culture declined drammatically and I don't think many can deny that
  19. Paid 46,99 $ 6 years ago on ebay
  20. what's the wrong with tony middleton?
  21. Well, my point was I would rather spend £1,332.68 for the masqueraders although the record is not that rare than the £ 800 for paulette. Just my opinion... the price is made by how much I'm willing to pay for it rather than how rare. But I know that the others don't reason like that
  22. It's the starting price... and it went for $1500 or more in the past... I wasn't so drastic but it's more or less what i meant
  23. I don't know. I don't particularly like this record. It's just the price that stroke me
  24. I love "how" though... what about this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rarest-of-the-Rare-Northern-Soul-Paulette-Love-You-Babe-on-Contact-Label-/111456682296?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:IT:3160#ht_253wt_1363
  25. I mean that you can understand when a sound is built in a studio (morern stuff) and something spontaneous with real musicians. I can use as an example the difference with old science movies and modern holliwood ones. When directors didn't have money had to use their imagination to create interest in their public and there you could see the hand of a genius.... the same thing happens with old songs... only grat artists could create great tunes from nothing... hope I made myself clear
