  3. I think this has become worse of late due to some (big) DJ's wanting to play at 2 or 3 different venues in a night. Made a decision now at our venue not top book DJ's that we know will arrive shortly before their time and scuttle off 5 minutes after they have been paid. Much better off having a DJ who wants to enjoy the night and socialise with the punters than just grabbing as much cash as they can. IMHO Mark
  4. I don't think anyone has said that he is doing anything wrong, everyone I know that has dealt with him says that he is 100% ok. I think the people who have posted have done it more to stop people buying at a high price and then finding later they could have had it cheaper. I know there is always this risk when buying records but I don't suppose the guy who has just paid over $2000 will be happy when he hears that he could have bought it last week at a buy it now price of $600. If 200 copies of a record turning up is not going to effect prices how come Danny Moore now struggles to sell at £40? A friend of mine bought a Clara Hardy for $1400 (18 months ago) and is not happy that the price now is down to $240 and he is still putting up a copy a week. This friend loves the record but knows that if the record is ever sold there is not much chance of getting back the price paid. When people put up posts like the ones on this thread its more just a sharing of information than a slagging off of the seller. In my opinion. Mark

    My Wants

Just looked in the JM book and it has no mention of a "Bell Sound" matrix Adam. 1st mix with nashville matrix + and 97700 scratched out. 2nd mix with nashville matrix and no 97700. Just looked in my boxes and found 2 white DJ copies of the 1st mix so could sell one. Not sure what price it goes for now. Mark
  6. I have an original one up in sales now. Its a hard boot to tell, very close to the original apart from the boot has pb in the run out groove and also the Pre-vue logo is embossed into the label. I have had several enquiries and (I think) its close to being sold. Mark
  7. Yvonne Carroll now SOLD
  8. That picture brought back a few memories Trev, not seen Nashie, Daisy or Stan for a good few years. We did have some good times in that Centre Bar Mark

  11. Thanks but unfortunately this guy is looking for a bit more than that
  12. I've just been offered the following and could do with some help on current price in mint- condition. Volumes - Ain't Gonna Give You Up - Karen Sherri Taylor - He's The One Who Rings - Gloreco Superlatives - Don't Let True Love Die - Dynamics Any help appreciated, thanks. Mark
  13. Just been told by a reliable source that the guy has found 100. He has offered me a couple at $700 each but if the 100 figure is correct then I reckon the price could be lower than $700 before long.
  14. Hi Tony I didn't know they were different versions. Not played my copy for years or heard it out. Anyone got a soundfile of the CB one? Mark
  15. Has it got to be the C B release? I've got one on Resist with Sweete'n/ Who'll Cry on it. I think its the harder one of the 2 releases. Might sell or trade it. Mark
  16. Just checked and mines exactly the same 1007 and 1008. I noticed the same thing on my Moments on Deep. You Said is 001 and Hey Boy is 003. Hope this helps Mark
  17. Sorting through some old boxes for an oldies spot I am doing tomorrow and I came across this. I've not heard this for over 25 years and it still sounds good to me. Anyone agree or am I just letting nostalgia rule my senses. I can't remember seeing this in sales boxes either. Why, coz I don't think its that rare? Mark
  18. £250 is a good price for this great tune. Maybe you should have priced it differently to get the price you are after NORWOOD LONG - £350 reduced to £250 for the bargain hunters A bit tacky I know but it works for estate agents and I have been told by some dealers at events that they use this tactic because they know people will always try to knock them down!!
  19. I was always under the impression that the 1sided "Rules of Love" demos were a lot harder than the 1 sided "Laws of Love" demos but all of the copies on Popsike are "Rules of Love". Have I got it wrong way around? Mark
  20. We always focus on whats gone for higher than expected prices, sometimes I am more interested in what if anything has gone at lower than expected price. You don't see the Epsilons around that much and I would have expected it to go for more on one of John's auctions. Be interested if others agree or if I'm wrong for a change!!
  21. Me and Ian O'Hara were in Chicago in 2003 and found 2 stock copies at a Doo Wop collectors house. Ian has sold almost all of his collection since he went to New Zealand but I still have mine. Whenever I do the odd (very odd) spot I tend to play Clarence Hill because it always gets a good reaction. Was very surprised on John's auction the other week to see him describe it as "Latin". Not how I would personally describe it. Mark
  22. We were discussing this at the weekend and for me personally its very simple. If you can feel the music your in whatever your age, race, height or weight !! As long as its the individuals own choice and they have not been forced to come along by their parents. I'd rather have young people at a soul night who are into the music than some of the pissheads who come in off the street for a late drink and then start taking the piss out of everybody. As Dave has said one of the many good things about going to events abroad is the wide range of ages that you get attending. Everybodys welcome which is how it should be. Mark
  23. Larry Allen - Can't we talk it over Tony Galla - In Love Wilbur Reynolds - Sweet'n Classic 100mph's Mark
