  1. /index.p...t&event_id=1873 Already done by Kev Roberts in the Midlands. A bit of something for all tastes there. Going for the first time tomorrow.
  2. Can't find it on Soul Club, anyone have it or know where pls.
  3. https://www.dragondiscs.co.uk/cleaning1.php Hope the above helps.
  4. In my experience, the cardboard sleeves do damage vinyl, some of my records I've had in them 30 years, and they have loads of surface scuffs, so definitely make sure there's a paper sleeve inside to protect.
  5. Paul I come from the same town as you, and think it's a fair question you ask. My contribution to this is to say that during the 70's footy violence, and inter town violence from my own experience were both rife. Coach loads of lads on stag do's in a town with a different accent would inevitably be involved in large scale disturbances. Some of these lads were soulies, some not. I've bought records from one of the worst (or best) hoolies in the country in our town. I've been to Blackpool Mecca and it's kicked of big time every week. Not all involved were soulies, many on the free bus went for the fight. Just a coincidence in timing IMO. most of my old mates are soulies and have at some stage been involved, but we come from a small feicely proud, and working class town mate. Not sure if it's the same nationwide, though Garv is from the South, so sounds likely. Best Dave
  6. Does he only do originals ? I have a pressing of that crap - why would anyone press that ? and come to think of it, why would any daft old git buy it ? May bring it along to the 44 Club friday nite and see if the asailant turns up !!!
  7. Craig Just listened to the archive and it's a great show. I'm sure it used to be on thursday nights back in the nineties ? Anyhow enjoyed it, great to see you last Sunday at Junction 2 and can't wait for the 44 Club in a couple of weeks. Excellent dancing sounds all nite and a really great crowd. :-) Best Dave
  8. defo a vocal and sounded quite ''modern'', that's what intrigued me. Very nearly asked the young lasses on't till, but we were running out of car park time. Knew I'd regret it. edit but I reallly do appreciate your input, and you seem to have a bit of knowlege about an obscure and un-popular track Cod ?
  9. I'll try and find that track cod, I did try typing 'what about the music' in google, too much of a long shot there though, no chance Many thanks m8 Dave
  10. How about 'what about the music' kama sutra records, bit of an oldie. Don't think the Brighouse and Rastrick covered it, but ya never know, lol. Thanks Paul.
  11. Out shopping in Leamington today, walked in River Island and instantly thought it was Billy Harner as background shoppin music, which incidentally I like. It wasn't Billy, it was a very different version. Anyone know what it was, or had similar alternative take experiences ???
  12. Pete - many thanks for the tapes - magnificent memories refreshed I've had books out showing pictures to the family, then playing the incredible footage clapping by hundreds of people at least, all in unison, and absolutely brilliant tear provoking atmosphere that made so very special to those lucky enough to have made the trip - short, far or very far in some case. What a great venue in it's day, wish I was going this weekend. Thanks again Pete Dave.
  13. How long is Kim over here for mate - out of interest and the info may help promoters, etc ?
  14. Add me to the appreciation society Good luck with the work m8.
  15. Dave Just PM'd ya, agree you can't get rid of the soul, never been nowt else before or after Northern for me but wish I could turn back the clock in many ways and have done more in my youth. I married at 19 and missed almostr everything, luckily there is a chance to catch up a bit right now. Dave B
  16. Thanks very much, going to Villamoura this Saturday afternoon, and will sniff out the joint. The venue does advertise (on another board) but doesn't give the name of the bar, . Anyhow, I rang and it is Legends at the top of the strip. Ex-Kiss FM DJ Mark Sebastian does the DJ'ing. Briles.
  17. Hinckley have a low key affair on a Sunday nite, twice monthly. Like to chill Sunday nite really, before the dreaded monday morning, so have only made it the once. I totally agree and if there was something midweek in the Midlands I'd be there. A pub in Nuneaton did a wednesday nite one 6 months ago, but it's gone now.
  18. Ford Escort - Cracking up over you
  19. Used to own a Ford Escort with terrible brakes so :- Ford Escort = Nothing Can Stop Me - Gene Chandler.
  20. Rover - I'm Gone - sorry couldn't resist
  21. Aston Martin DB9 - Turning my heartbeat up !
  22. Personally not keen on this rated spin on here, ain't gonna mention names Sebastian Williams - Get Your Point Over - far too funky and modern for me, lol.
  23. Anyone know what the bar is called on Montechorro strip where northern is played every saturday, going very soon, on my stag do, and feel I must pay it a visit (with 8 non-soulies). I know a few on here have been, and have seen it listed in events, but no name of the bar.
  24. Please if you could Pete, Thanks for all your help Guys.
  25. Ian Please could you try that Fidels file, and tell me it's cool :-) Dave B
