  21. Don't know when it was booted, but there are 2. The rarer grey boot is about £20's worth. The original issue around £225-250 for a nice one, Demo's more. I have a grey boot for sale since acquiring the orig. Best Dave
  22. Don't know if this has been covered on here, so apologise if it has. Last nite I watched the film with Danny Dyer, quite funny in parts, but very average generally, but the soundtrack was excellent from start to finish Anyone seen it ? Best, Dave. The films soundtrack is made up of rare Northern Soul tracks including; Tommy Neal - Going To A Happening Doris Troy - I'd Do Anything Johnny De'vigne - I Smell Trouble Ronnie & Robyn - Sidra's Theme The Channels - Anything You Do Doni Burdick - Open The Door To Your Heart Steve Karmen - Breakaway The Sapphires - Gotta Have Your Love The Yum Yums - Gonna Be A Big Thing
  23. Just like to add my thanks for all who have taken the time to share these great stories, so well coordinated (and cajoled) by Ian. I've never even been stateside, so can only admire the drive of these pioneers bringing back such fantastic pieces of history to indulge in. I used to wait for my mate to come back from Wigan with all the top sounds, played on his old record player. Then I went myself when I was a bit older (around 1976), just amazing. The thrills must have been something else, the only buzz I've had is getting a great deal on ebay, finding something (rarely) that many have missed down to seller ignorance usually. like my great copy of Dee Clark - That's My Girl - $6.60 etc. A great feeeling when it was in the bag, nothing though . . . Keep 'em coming Soul Pimps, cos this has something I've been reading in a little corner of my office PC and has brought many a chuckle and smile to some pretty dull days of late. Ian, put me down for the book please Best Dave.
  24. Ballads = John Manship - a pristine Demo for £85 Best dave
  25. We did experierence the huge increase in youth at Warwick on Friday. We put on a Scooterist DJ as a one off experiment, who played Right Track, Landslide, I'm On My Way, Night Owl, Frankie Valli and finished off with Duffy which I bought for him on vinyl specially for him. Chris packed the floor with this set, but plenty of our Soulies were cringing a bit. As the night got more bold, we got requests for the kinks - derr sorry, ok then Diana Ross - Jimmy Mack etc. We had a couple of these between us and played. em in the last hour. The floor was rammed. Put a Northern on and the floor went slightly quieter. Not easy as a DJ who knows the records he wants to play . We had best part of 180 peeps in the building, a mix of Mods, Youth, Scooterist and Soulies of old. We had a couple for bunches of women in the 30's and 40's who had a great time but hardly knew a song. They danced and let their hair down with the rest. Now I've been pulling my hair out (wot bit got left) as to how to accomodate this factor. The music was affected, particularly the last 2 DJ's getting bombarded with requests for the snake, and ska, etc. Not sure if they'll come back, but will be welcomed by all at Warwick, decided it's best to see how things develop as we are a relatively new club and doing well with numbers at the mo All the young uns behaved impeccably, and generally fitted right in. Best Dave
