this shows a few things from the label... no arthur willis even tho its been thru ebay at least twice..but a few rickey in there..the ones towards the bottom came from the artist.. i wonder if stevie winwood ever got to hear it

There was one legit AW that went through eBay from the Birmingham dealer. I didn't realize you were talking about Rickey Andrews though hence my questions and confusion.

the stan z cole 45 is a comedy record  ..the november 1972 being the release date.. its on MLT 2064.. The releases all seem to fall in line.. i would estimate 1970 or even 71 for athur willis

You may have a point, but I'm not entirely sure Carl Queen worked in sequential order.

its a stereo 45 so id say around 1970..i`d be surprised at 1975.. but not early mid 60s for sure

When you look at the full output of the label, particularly the four Soul/Funk records on the label, and consider the studio in Smyrna where it where it was recorded, all in their totality, you'll put this closer to 1975 than 1970. Either way, absolutely, 100% not a 60s record.

  4. I have a full set of McGrath's labelography series "R&B Indies" volumes 1-4 that I'm interested in selling. Trouble is, postage from the US to anywhere outside the US is probably going to be prohibitive due to the weight. Still, if anyone is interested, I can get a shipping quote to you. $100 for all four books + shipping. Shipping inside the US will be $7.50

  5. The consignment deal is attractive to those who don't have the time or don't want to bother with eBay and all of it's trappings and occasional headaches. For those of us who do choose to sell ourselves, CS presents an interesting set of issues. While they do command higher prices than most anyone else gets, it's not likely enough to make up the consignment percentage when we can do the work ourselves. However, we have to fight for the same sets of eyeballs, which means sometimes we feel like we're just wholesaling records or giving them away. Then again, I personally still have instances where I am getting higher bids on eBay than the same record that I've had sitting for a set price on Discogs for weeks. I guess in that way it all evens out. CS does a great job at what they do, no doubt. I've bought from them as well and certainly would again. Savvy shoppers will know to look beyond *just* what they offer though.

  6. Highlights include the rare G.O. Smith LP produced by Moses Dillard on Tex-Town, Chocolate Cholly's 4 song EP, Electric Mud, clean JL Hooker At Newport promo, Madhouse, Willie Beaver Hale, The Players and so much more.

Auctions end after full time of the World Cup championship game but if it goes into OT/PK there could be some conflict. Setting snipes is recommended if you're trying to pay attention to both.

Thanks for looking. Buy my records. I got bills to pay.
