  1. I totally forgot that I wanted to share these with Soul Source after the show happened (four months ago!). We had George Hughley perform at our night and got a few of his tunes recorded for posterity - Four to be exact. They can be seen here. https://www.youtube.com/user/PeachtreeSoul#p/u Rather than linking to each of them individually, you can see them all at the above link. If anyone would prefer that I just embed them in this thread, let me know.
  2. I came up with that price somewhat arbitrarily, adding a little bit on top of the price I saw on Popsike. I see that it's listed at 300 in the Manship book. If someone were to let it go for 300UKP, that is something I would strongly consider paying.
  3. Looking for a nice copy of the Mathew Brown 45 on Sew City. $300 waiting for a minter....
  4. I haven't seen one before....but I just picked one up on my lunch break!
  5. The 45 has been SOLD. Thanks to all of you who expressed interest.
  6. I haven't flipped that one over in a LONG time myself. Time to give that one another listen! I did send a message to SKEGSOUL. Thank you for the recommendation.
  7. I don't think I've ever seen "Just Ask the Lonely" before, but I have seen "That's It" and that price seems slightly, though not obnoxiously high.
  8. By the way, this is the much rarer issue. The demo, remember, has only the one song on it, "I'm A Lonely Man". This copy also has "I'm A Dreamer"
  9. Bobby Wilburn - I'm A Dreamer / I'm A Lonely Man (Gamble G 4015) NM- Beautiful copy of this two-sided masterpiece recorded at Bill Haney's studio in Atlanta. I recently picked up a copy on Chant for myself so I'm going to let the Gamble copy go. I was thinking about eBay, but will make it available to offers here for a few days first. Any chance to avoid eBay fees is worthwhile! PM cash offers, or other other Georgia 45s for trade.
  10. So that's about $165 then. I wasn't too far off. I can match Manship's price and pay postage if anyone wants it.
  11. I've got a Near Mint copy for sale which didn't hit the reserve price on eBay last week. I'd like to think that £70 is still a low price, but uh....maybe not. Anyone want to buy it for $180 postage paid?
  12. All of that, and lots and LOTS of shagging! . This is a topic that pops up occasionally here on Soul Source. There's definitely a bit of crossover interest between the beach and northern scenes musically.
  13. And another ended on ebay yesterday at $766.85. It's one of the last Jar-Val 45s I don't yet have, but it remains out of reach....for now.
  14. You're also in Atlanta? Do we know each other?
  15. There was a copy just a week or two before this one that went for $145. I had a number of people turn down a copy I offered at a lower set price than this. Maybe ebay isn't so evil after all then.
  16. Just lost this one on ebay - 2nd high bid unfortunately. Anyone have a copy they wouldn't mind selling to me? Marshall, Donovan, and Broomfield Let's Dance / That's Love Augusta A.R. 101
  17. Hey Carms - if you have a sales list, please email it to me! vespa (at) mindspring dot com
  18. I'm not sure this is true of the entire pressing of the Jimmy Braswell. I remember mine being quite decent, though I'd have to look at it again. It sounds great in any event. I've seen poor pressing quality in a handful of Jar-Val releases, namely Nancy Butts "Letter Full of Tears", Joe Fossett (which is a much later release than the others), Ronnie Brown and the gospel 45s. However, I have quite a few others that are ok. It was a really small operation, so I think the quality is always going to be hit or miss. I've never paid much attention to any deadwax markings to determine which plants were used though.
  19. Sorry, it turns out I only had the promo. The other Hotlanta records I have are other titles.
  20. I'm sure I have both stock and DJ copies on hand....no idea what condition they're in but I'll pull 'em out tonight and let you know. 10UKP would also include postage if I have one clean enough.
  21. Sorted now, thanks again to those who replied to me.
  22. Billy Daniels - Woe, Woe, Woe / That Old Black Magic (Liberty 55716) VG+ wlp label missing from B side SOLD
  23. The Caper Brothers - I Ain't Gonna Write You / There Goes My Heart Again (Roulette R-4597) NM bb w/ factory sleeve £50 + postage
  24. I figured that reggae records were just pressed up in VG- condition!
  25. Ah yes! Possible business names: "Trashed Treasures" "Holey Grails" "Dashed Dreams" "Wrecked Rares" I like it....
