Richard Marks was an Atlanta guitarist and singer who only ever recorded a handful of records but also wrote for other artists and played on other artists records as well. He died a few years ago but Roy Lee Johnson (one of R.M.'s contemporaries) always speaks very highly of him. I don't really have a lot of information about his life right now, though. That Tuska 45 is legitimately rare, though his "Funky Four Corners" 45 is pretty easy to get on Tuska or Roulette (maybe easier on Tuska). I'm sure you have received many offers privately, and you could count me among the interested parties to be perfectly honest. Very nice find. Now I'm curious about what other records you found too!

Thanks, everyone. I did find my copy with a very badly chewed/ripped up sleeve - enough so that it's really about half gone, so not worth even stating that I have it. The vinyl is really nice though. I was trying to look it up and was stunned by the differences in price out there. I think I also prefer Howard Tate, but I can definitely hear why the Tyn Tymes would have their fans out there, and I wouldn't complain if I heard a DJ play it instead of HT. The HT is so well known, that hearing a well played uptempo cover of it would sound pretty fresh to a lot of ears.

You have a PM, Russ. And yes, the North Carolina days (both the scooter rally and the Keb show in Charlotte) were fantastic. Then you had to go and move back to the UK.....bah!

Russ....I just picked up a spare of this one in a collection this past weekend. I need to give it a good cleaning so I can really tell you about the condition though. I'll do that tonight. If anyone sells you theirs before I get a chance to report back, fair game.

These can be tracked until the package leaves the US from the USPS site. https://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm?from=global&page=0035trackandconfirm Here's a random one I just pulled out of my desk: So, while this will not track it to your door (you need registered or express mail for this at an added expense) this will actually tell you if your seller's post office processed the package. Some goofy behavior I've seen from the UK (and I don't fully understand how the Royal Post works) is that sometimes Customs in the UK will hold a package but neglect to inform the recipient that they have it, and then eventually return the package to the sender. I've had a couple of boxes returned with a stamp or sticker saying that the recipient didn't claim the package, when they probably didn't even know it was there to claim. So, if it feels like a package is taking too long and you know or trust that it was shipped, I might suggest that you try calling the customs office.
