If anyone is on the fence about this, I'd say just get it. Dylan's description of the condition sounds about like pretty much every copy of this that I've ever encountered. If you're waiting for a cleaner one, it might be a LONG time!

Gwen Owens - Mystery Man / Someone To Love (Oncore ON-84) *OFFERS* Condition is a major issue here. By appearances alone, it looks like a decent VG record. However, there's an odd, and long circular-type scratch on the Mystery Man side. The scratch crosses the groove, causing skips. Listen carefully to the sound files. Mystery Man does play through without help, but it also does skip. Someone To Love plays with a little noise, but has no issues playing through. Yes, and I remember doing a short but fruitless search for Mr. Lyles a couple of years ago. His name shows up on quite a few recordings from around the Southeast. Like the Atlanta/Greenville SC Soulville label, it's entirely likely that the person who ran Kimtone moved from one state to the other. The chronology of the three singles is unknown to me.

As for Lyn Westbrook, biographic details are fuzzy. In addition to the Kimtone 45, there is Del-Mar 1016 - I'm the One / I'm In Love Esprit 29446 - African Strut pt. 1 / pt. 2 Del-Mar is Nashville based and Esprit was an Atlanta label. The owner of the Esprit label is deceased now, but I did ask him a number of years ago about Westbrook, and I didn't learn much of anything from that conversation. Maybe the Youtube video will help some further information surface.

I don't know of any other copies of the WW single, and I wish you had floated your copy of the Mojo single by me first, but alas....I can only do so much. Ha! I think you're largely correct about both 45s on the Baby label. They're not that special outside of their rarity. I'm still working on learning more about the band and the WW label. I've spoken with a handful of people who were close, but not quite as close as I'd prefer. Inching closer, however (I think).

Lil Sputnik was the kid. He shows up very briefly on the Worldwide 45 as well as the Baby 45. Fingers crossed that I can work out a good enough bid for Goner's Mojo 45 on eBay right now....a sentiment I fear I also share with a number of others here. *sigh*
