  2. I'm sure Pat would recieve a tremendous welcome back to Burnley. Top bloke. Welcome back Pat.
  3. Also not seen any w/d of either of them. Wonder how they go-who are they credited to???? Kev
  4. Just shows what there is out there that we don't know, Luv Swish Hey Swish I just caught this thread a moment ago. You did make me laugh when you used to come to South London with Chuddy to DJ at the Alexander in Clapham. Only two blokes I know lived by the fruit machine one was Brian Rae and you were the other. I clearly remember every Sat morning after a gig we left my flat and you always headed to the bookies to put your dj wage on an evens bet-and ALWAYS came away with double your money. Always entertained the London Soul Crowd as well. Saw Chas in March at Prestatyn and he's doing fine. Good luck with the poker-Something tells me you do ok with it. And loved the poems. Regards Kev Moore
  5. Bought this off Gilly years back. Sure he said this was the more difficult one to find and he's knocked about Detroit a bit.
  6. A favourite for me is the Modern slow version of 'I get the sweetest feeling' was it Dasy Hicks? absolutely love that take on it.
  7. Edwin Starr Sharon Soul M Davis and S Mancha These are the only ones I've managed to find on promos. My M Davis and S Mancha is a w/d not ever seen an issue Dave socan't help. Surely Tim would know? Kev
  8. Hi Bethan You're myspace link doesn't put you through. If you look in the soulsource rules I'm not sure this is allowed. Check with Mike or somebody. Also there is a succesful soul club called Boogaloo in South London already established. . so a change of name might be a good idea. Anyway good luck on the venture and if you need any help or advice PM me. Kev Moore Ps. I've sent you a message by PM so check your mail.
  9. Well done Dave. SKM has kept me going on trains. buses, back of cars etc after many a nighter. You have done a great job and deserve the acolades. I'd personallyl ike to thank you again for printing my thoughts in your 50th special issue when others probably wouldn't have. (Even though you didn't agree with my ramblings). Writing that article made me more than aware of how difficult just writing the stuff is never mind the production side of things. I'm sure your pen or keyboard will not be idle long and good luck with finding that elusive publishing deal for Dave Rimmer's Northern Soul Bible Vol 2. Good Luck mate and many thanks. Kev
  10. Hi Barry I can understand how you come to that conclusion. But then I realize that that's his style. And lets face it with a voice like that I don't think you can have overkill. I tend not to play his stuff over and over but dig into when I need a burst. Ta Kev
  11. Wow! Even Modern enthusiasts are called anoraks now. I'M TRULY HONOURED.
  12. Absolutely-lots of fond memories of The Arms and The Museum.
  13. A nudge from the missus so I'm off for now. Good to meet you guys. Kev
  14. Lots of places all over the world named after places in Old Blighty. Getting back to Kenny Bobien-Does anyone know of any dates he might be playing over here or am I going to have to fly to New Jersey for a summer break?
  15. When Mark Coddington didWithout Boundaries it was awesome when it was in Melbourne Derbyshire. Lost a little atmosphere for me when it moved to the Bass Museum. Quite eclectic sets played there.
  16. You're welcome familytree Always kept an interest in all the music. Still collect northern and disco and southern and modern. If it sounds good and soulful and uplifts my spirit it's good enough for me. But I live in a little cave with no curtains and survive on beans and toast. (With cheese on a good week). No honestly I think it's great that we have so many different styles to choose from and celebrate. A bit like I imagine Betty's hot pot tasting in the Rovers. God I'm hungry. When I think of the new Soulful/gospel/house tunes I think. ANGELS WITHOUT WINGS CANNOT FLY. coz some of that music really soars. Kev
  17. It's easy to say garage GARIDGE-see it's easy. I was always aware that garage had come from paradise garage. So I presume they would have used the term in USA. Maybe? Anyone here actually went to Paradise Garage?
  18. Honestly I like it but.... WHAT CAN I DO WHAT CAN I SAY....
  19. Probably 2bob! That's 10p in old sterling. Some memories you just can't erase.
  20. Hey Mark(Woolie) How are you-You getting involved or just perching????? Kev
