  1. Over the last 20 years Mickey Champion Ted Taylor Big Daddy Rogers Contstellations Pat & the Blenders Carol & Gerri All good records in their own right but IMO overplayed-overplayed overplayed. Ruby Andrews-Top class.
  2. As time goes on I've kept going back to the tunes i grew up with.....Touch me in the morning Diana Ross-Sweet Love-Commodores -Best thing that ever happened to me-Gladys Knight-Wherever I lay my hat-Marvin Gaye-Hell up in Harlem-Edwin Starr... etc etc. Puts everything else into perspective too. Rare Soul NOT but hold special memories for me and puts the early 70's glam rock alternative to shame. Kev You Gonna play some Diana Ross @Boogaloo Paul? Back in my Arms Again or Mother You Smother You are my faves at the Moment.
  3. Cheers Chalky Sounds a bit blue eyed to me. Did Mike Terry have an involvement in the Rainbows record? Kev
  4. I have a Detroit Shakers record on Soul Cat called Help Me with a Mike Terry credit. Would this be Detroit? New York? or Boot? Kev
  5. Also played on 'The Horse' session with Jesse James.
  6. Sid Barnes told me the sax break in Four Tops -I Can't Help Myself was Mike Terry.
  7. Best version for me-IMO the harmonica fits the theme of 'just a lonely boy' Kev
  8. Thanks Harry I'll stop looking now. cheers Kev
  9. Definately NO red issues of this record then??????
  10. Thanks Knew the stock copy was rare but can't think why peeps were steering me to a red stocker. Maybe they dream about record labels too!!!!
  11. I recently bought a White promo of Gerri Granger "I Go To Pieces" and right away people were saying I should get the rarer Red stock copy. Having made a few enquires I've been told these probably don't exist and the stock copies are usual Bell silver/black writing. Something tells me I've seen Red stock copies in the past but then again I sometimes dream about record labels. Can anyone shed any light on this or maybe scan a copy up. Cheers Kev
  12. Mind you Gavin shouldn't laugh, I'm off round Kenny's next week to help him sort out his 80,000,000 albums. Probably 80,000,099 by now.
  13. Ouchh!!!!! Bet that hurt. Did you still get up for work next day???????
  14. Go Gavin go! Have you thought bout doing a box set!
  15. Believe me he did that night. Don't know who was worse me or Kenny. But it was good talking to Sid/Duke about Impa ct records.
  16. Come on Ken. Why keep the world in the dark?
  17. Any spare copies of the Mrs Miller album yet Ken? Surely that fits the bill! Stompin in places..... found in a garage........ and not at all polished! Kev
  18. Not so good when I started singing I'd quaffed a few as you can imagine.
  19. Remember talking to Sid Barnes for quite a while at The Dome after Backdoor Kenny told me he was Duke Browner???????? One of those nights eh! A couple of weeks later he played at the 100Club with Hoagy Lands and I managed to sing some IHOTOS with him live tho'he sounded better than me. We squared the name check but he didn't give me any info on Jerry Cook-I always thought it was Little Jerry Cook when he got a bit bigger!
  20. Thanks for posting that. Interesting and food for thought. Cheers Kev
  21. Not too sure where the 'soulful' come into that one. That's just a dance track to me. But if it floats your boat.
  22. That's the one Tony. can see him doing the humptyback to this in an adult episode.
  23. Bisley had a good crack at it that night but a better sound system would have helped. (Got one sitting in my bedroom brand new 2000 watts good to go if interested.) Went down there just for the 2room event. Could have worked on it as IMO there's a definate demand with the right dj's. Kev
  24. pm'ed you macca
