  1. I doth protest I was only pointing the poor chappie in the right direction to soothe his ailments. Kev
  2. .......No, but on a more serious note I think we all have days/nights like that. Usually happens to me in conjunction with selling off records I've had for 25years so I buy some more. Shopping therapy is not the sole domain of the female species as we well know. Also has helped when I've jumped on a train or scrounged a lift to a venue I've never been to before...it sorta freshens things up and you'd be suprised at the peeps you'll know once you get there. Another tip.......go back and listen to some great Motown records. Recharge your batteries. It's like if you LOVE eating meat & potato pie chips and gravy and you have it every weekend for 30years you're bound to get an odd chippy you don't like or a flush of indigestion. I feel for you and hope you're smiling again soon. Try some of the above......If that doesn't work try my first suggestion. Regards Kev
  3. A good shag 'll probably sort you out. Kev
  4. talking of funny ones Dave, Thuds on ebay had a Howard Tate-'Have You Ever Had The Blues'-Turntable for Buy Now $200. Don't know where they get their prices? Kev
  5. I was just watching the post in media that Pete S put up with The Lil' Soul Brothers on the Mike Douglas Show. If you haven't seen it it's well worth a look. Cheers Pete. I thoroughly enjoyed that after spending years trying to picture them. Funny for some reason I thought there was a whole bunch of them. But it got me thinking how many artists started performing at a young age? Now I know lots started in church singing in the choir and I know that artists like Patti Labelle, and Esther Philips were child performers and obviously so were Little Stevie and Carl Carlton. I'm wondering just how early some of the 'stars' we revere go back to their beginnings. Wasn't Darrow Fletcher a child prodigy? How many others...........?????..................there must be loads. Kev
  6. Top tune and deserves to be covered. By the way on the CD R&B of Donnie Elbert in the sleeve notes it does say that he wrote OTDTYH as well as Somebody Somewhere Needs You. Don't know if it's right or not.????? Kev
  7. I was given my copy by Anorack Pete about the latter days of The Alexandre in Clapham Common. Used to love those nights at The Norfork Village. Kev

  12. Don't listen to other types of music really. Don't listen to the radio. if I want to listen to music I pull something out of a box or off the shelves or listen to a cd comp someone has done for me. Too much music so little time! So many questions to answer......... ..........How many Billy Butler tracks have I never heard yet? ..........Will I get a chance to hear the entire D Town discography before I die? ..........What was that Four Perfections record Butch played at Burnley the other month? ..........Is 'Wanted in Three States' an Arctic or Harthon production or both? ..........How many black singers/musicianswriters/musicians were flying between Detroit/Philly/MemphisWashington/Baltimore/New York/LA/Florida in 1967? ......... Did they have white only sections on the planes? ..........How long can Stevie Wonder keep going? Kev

  18. Stevie Wonder has made more great recordings than any of us have had hot dinners and his influence on modern music has been phenomenal. Kev
  19. Here's a few more Paul. Found em while playing some old albums this weekend. 'Can't Stand to see the Slaughter' Tower of Power-Cbs (One for the veggies) 'Fish Aint Bitin' Lamont Dozier-Abc Half Sister,Half Brother/Trigger Happy People- Barbara Mason-Buddah Kev
  20. If the said cheeky bugger hadn't even asked to look in your box I'd class that as trespassing. Cheeky sod.-no manners at all! Some people even ask record dealers if it's ok to look in their sales box at nighters. It's just plain respectful. When I think of some tunes I've had go missing when people went through my box years ago. Sandi Sheldon Freddie Chavez (issue) To name but two. Hands off I say. Kev
