  7. I've had a couple of these. First one was £6 about 10 years ago. The copy I have now was £10 I think bought about 5 years ago. The flip I can't stop was issued a few times with different b sides. One being My Honey and Me. (Same as The Staple singers.) Kev

  11. As far as I can remember Orange original Yellow Trans American re-issue (which I hear is harder to find but that may not be the case) Yellow Trans boot maybe that's right. Kev
  12. This is probably a little off topic. A friend of mine gave me this when he sold up a few years back which I kept to play indoors. Does anyone know how many of these were cut. Where they came from? Cheers Kev
  13. Dave, Billy has had a JJ.Daniels in his sales box all year. You could maybe tease it off him. Kev
  14. When I first started going to Northern clubs. Carmel Strings-I Hear a Symphony-World Pacific. I heard it years before I even knew there was a Supremes vocal. Kev
  15. I loved Cheapo's went there every time I was in Soho in the 80's. Never went home empty handed... built up my Jackie Wilson/Four Tops/Walter Jackson lp collection from there...looking round my Lp shelves even now there's still so many that have £1.80 or £2.20 written in the top corner in biro. From the stall I remember .....The Chosen Few- Maple w/demo also one on Canyon...on the same day. I've got my second wind-Columbia w/demo........there's too many to list...down side was they were all £1.00 each by then. Good times indeed. I was really sorry when they stopped selling vinyl outside and concentrated on cd's and videos/DVD's. It was like a magnet. Just gotta swerve past Cheapo's.....won't be long . Didn't John's brother work out of Broadway in Fulham then sold cd's in Cambridge Circus then had a cd shop in soho opposite Wreckless? Roger Stewart will remember. Cheapo Cheapo's R.I.P. Kev
  16. i know your specificly talking about peeps on this site but lets.......... ............not forget all those thousands of artists, writers, producers, arrangers and record label owners.-both dead and alive. All that FAITH that adds to our daily pleasure. Long may it last. Kev
  17. I'm looking for a good clean copy of Ella Fitzgerald's version of Get Ready. If you can help PM please. Thanks for looking Kev
  18. Happiness is Here-Barbera Mercer for txt alert. Not a Chance in a Million-Jock Mitchell for incoming calls.
  19. The story goes that he was one of the original promoters of Burnley Cricket Club soul nights way back. But you'd have to confirm that with a few older lads from Burnley as I only go back as far as The Kiethley Green, The Concord and The 110club etc Kev
  20. Also If people want to dictate the music policy let them spend half their time scouring lists-ringing people-checking box after box of records-spending money you can't afford-let them have a go. Bloody hell plenty of do's on for them to try their hand. Kev Great to listen to new tunes. Don't have to dance-can't force me. That doesn't mean I'm not enjoying myself. Plus if it's a good tune whether I know it or not I get St Vitas dance. Head starts nodding-feet start tapping and usually you go over to the guy/girl playing it and shake their hand or show appreciation-look at the record and check it out. That's a blinder-should get more spins-were can I find one. Is that a yellow copy-I've only seen red ones.-Wasn't that arranged by Riley Hampton etc.
  21. If somebody asked me to play Duffy I'd play it the next record. But I don't own a copy so it wouldn't happen. I'm a firm believer that if someone has paid to enter a club and ask for something. Then they're entitled to hear it if you've got it in your box. If you don't believe in a record it shouldn't be in your box. I also get a fantastic feeling when I've carried a tune for a few months and haven't found the right time to drop it in then all of a a sudden the time's right. Grin grin grin! Phew glad I played that. I swell up with A GREAT BIG WARM FEELING. Good music is good music. A good dj is a good dj. Not much else in it really. Enjoy. Kev
