After all it's not THAT good. And there's more than one copy, trust me Sure I can conjure up an mp3 - I'll put it on your next CD mate (yours too Si ) Billy

...and I am one of those just as wacky persons that totally aggrees As far as I am concerned there are 2 good records on Shrine: Ray Pollard and JD Bryant. The rest are between utter shite (i.e. Eddie Daye, Les Chansonettes) and strictly average (i.e. Shirley Edwards, Cautions). Think that about sums it up Do you aggree chris?

John And The Weirdest
Emailed high bidder the minute I saw it and warned him. If it was real the reserve would be set at more than $750. Also 99% of things offered in the UK that have been booted will be boots. Not sure that makes much sense, but it's oh so true as I have unfortunately found out... BTW has anone seen that Holly St. Clair (ABC demo) - £80 and it has about 47 bids - INSANE Billy

Think I aggree with Christian on al of his "hates" bar the first one, here's what I think...... ESTHER GRANT Eeasily one of finest female soul records ever made. Christian you have no taste ...would kill for a real one in my box SHARON McMANN Ahem... you al know hopw I feel about this one LONETTE Very average, like he says bad girlie vocals MARY SAXTON Very middle of the road, aggree with Chris' descrption, but this may be a bit hypocritical as I've just bought one (much prefer the other 45 on the labe if that's any constellation) BUDDY CONNNOR Briliant - and cheap providing you buy it credited to the World's Funkiest Band - £20 at the most! LES CHANSONETTES Shite - nuff said DELEGATES OF SOUL Great record, but yes, overpriced due to the ammount of them about. Can't say it's played out though - not at venues I go to anyway. Apart from hearing it at Soulsvile on Friday (courtesy Mr Mannion) I can't remember last time I heard it out! .....just my views anyway Bily

Weekend Playlists please
Me, Geordie & Mrs Boot attended the Holget Club, York last night. As always top tunes from Tony & John, problems with guest DJ meant Barnsley's own Gaz Steele was drafted in at short notice as first reserve. Managed to scribble down most of Gary's plays on soggy beer mats so here goes: Betty Lloyd - I'm catching on (BSC) Roger Hatcher - Sweetest girl (Excello) BJ's - I'll find you (can't remember label and didn't write it down...) Hytones - You don't even know my name (Southern Artists) Seven Souls - I still love you (Okeh) Spidels - Dream girl (Providence) Jets - Everything I do (Port) Gil Blanding - Rules (Ready) King Tutt - Hung up (Fun City) Charles Johnson - Never had a love so good (Alston) Timeless Legend - I was born to love you (Dawn Lite) Lonnie Givens - Hold onto the blues (Real Side) Joanne Touchstone - Walk softly (SS7) Anna King - The big change (Ludix) Tiny Tipsy - Cha Cha Sue (?) Billy Lyon - Palm of your hand (?) Titus Turner - Coralee (King) Roy Hamilton - Panic is on (MGM) Bobby Kline - Say something nice to me (MB) Top spot eh?!
