  5. Because when more folks hear it/hear about it more copies will be snapped up and the price will probably rise Too slow to play out? What about the likes of Bobby Bennett an other down tempo numbers that are played and bought by lots of people
  6. Sorry photo is awful......these might be better:
  7. mp3 & scan of Volumes as requested sorry for dodgy photo but scanner's not working.... Also the mp3 was recorded with the tripple up too high so might sound a bit tinny...still should give you an idea of the noise. But honestly doesn't sound too bad over big system
  8. tehehe just wanted to spice it up a bit. I'd say it's rarer than E Essence. Not as good in my opinion but yeh rarer.
  9. spot on mate
  10. Taking offers on the following. call: 07810 707597 e-mail: l_l_m_w@hotmail.co.uk or PM mp3s of everything listed available but can also play down the phone. Hope you find something PARIS - DON'T LEAD ME ON - 4J Rare all-black label. Only one I've seen, Looks VG with little gloss but plays surprising well. RUBY - DECIEVED b/w FEMENINE INGENUITY - GOLD TOKEN Double sider of the highest order! Absolutely pristine condition - one or two minor scuffs else mint. Best copy I've seen bar none! Sticker on "Ingenuity" side label. Seen on oh so many wants list. Serious offers only please. I believe this is the same "alternate" cut as was recently offered by Peyt Smif Don't want to sell but needs must PHILLIP JAMES - WIDE AWAKE IN A DREAM - SOUL Superb mid-tempo and soooo soulful! Very obscure and becoming increasingly so as the masses catch on. VG- condition plays better. VIOLA WILLS - THE FIRST TIME - BEM SOLE Superb obscure crossover dancer. Sold my last copy for £300. Pristine condition except for inch-long marker line on flip-side label. JEAN'S BOTTLES - I'VE GOT TO COME IN - CLINTONE W/D Awesome crossover dancer. Same song as Ebony Essence and....dare I say it....rarer too! Looks about Ex but plays perfectly. Rare white demo with "Plug side" on flip. VALLIUM - AIN'T GONNA GIVE YOU UP - KAREN SOLD Easily one of the rarest on the label. In good, but playable condition. Bit crackly at start but soon clears up. Sounds fine over big system. HERB & DORIS - SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE - HIP W/D Great version and prob rarest too. VG cond but plays better. BOBBY TREETOP - WAIT TIL I GET TO KNOW YA - TUFF 100% original. VG cond, plays better. GARY GRIFFIN - THINK NOTHING ABOUT IT - HMF Sooooooooooo rare mid-tempo cover of Gene Chandler tune. Tons rarer than that slack-jawed Texas cover, Danny & the Doodahs or whatever they're called... Ex+ condition plays lovely. Very rare chance to buy. Use it wisely LARRY DONCASTER - GO FOR YOURSELF - LOMA Vinyl close to M- but has some scribble on label. I could lie and say it was signed but nope. It's just scribble still a lovely piece and very rare. Haven't seen one since I bought mine years ago... DENITA JAMES - I HAVE FEELING TOO - FLIP Absolutely spotless - not a mark on it. There were a few about at one time but haven't seen one for ages. Superb and soulful mid-tempo. Sounds brill over big system. Flip's getting plays now aswell, so that's 2 sides for the price of 1 LEE SNOT WILLIAMS - SEX FIRST PAY LATER - GAMMA VG+ cond, plays better. Way rarer and better than Garland Green and that's fetching £300+ now. Nice R&B flavoured flip but it's cut off center. Easily correctible, just shift adaptor and give it a wiggle GENE TOONES - WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT b/w ELBIE PARKER - PLEASE KEEP AWAY FROM ME Metal-based acetate from somewhere or other's anniversary. Good quality but a little quiet as most acetates are. Smells f*ckin gorgeous if this counts BEN E. KING - CAN READ THE NEWS WITHOUT MY GLASSES - ATCO Superb oldie that never really went out of fassion. Heard it out other day and it still sounds great as ever MR stamped orig in Ex shape. Plays almost M- That's it folkes please feel free to phone/email with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Tata for now, Billykins

  12. I know mate only kidding
  13. Maybe this offbeat house/trance/club stuff should be assigned the code name present soul
  14. Right no more digs at me please. Please see my frst post on this topic to see why... Have a go at Christian he digs at everyone else...
  15. Top man that thur Shifty had many a bargain of him, RG being just one
  16. erm... does typing it a lot of times qualify as proving it? I can do that.. it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is it is *just to clarify I didn't type "it is" 140 times. I typed it 139 times i'll get me coat
  17. Yes but I'm talking about PROPER modern soul, stuff that's been modern soul for years. Not this club/house stuff that has for some reason been adopted by the soul scene. Proper modern!
  18. You see that's where we differ Mr Herm...... I'd call 2001 Black Essence 70s soul, but that's MY opinion. Psychodelic Frankie is a good example of your "pure crossover" I suppose Joseph Webster positively dates 1975. And you must be some sort of cloth-eared half-whit not to be able to tell it's 70s joke - don't get all righteous on me now Christian... And as for the 3 I chose as modern... Solid Gold Revue is 1980; Cloudburst around '82 and I'd guess Nightchill mid 80s but not sure.... Hippo will know tehehe Booty McBill
  19. you know how to sell records ....though I'm not questioning your description
  20. I think someone can't afford it so is having a paddy Like has been said so many times a record is worth exactly what the highest bidder ios prepared to pay - no more - no less. I'll also have you know though that the seller is a very nice guy an someone I deal with quite often. I'm sure he's just selling at what he believes to be a reasonable price or what he's seen in the past. Can't be that high anyway it's got a bid... I'm not fussed anyway got a lovely white demo for £30 off Shifty
  21. Most folks say 70s & modern are the same but I disaggree. Modern has a place of it's own, essentially a modern room. You can get away with 70s in a Northern room I think (providing it's not too moderny discoish sounding ) Here are a few prime examples of what I'd call crossover, 70s and modern. Try sites like soulclub.org or the sounds section on here for samples... Crossover Dynells - Call on me Richard Caiton - I'd like to get near you Continental Four - The way I love you 70s Joseph Webster - My love is so strong Eric Lomax c/up Troy Johnson - I want you Modern Solid Gold Revue - Love's traffic Cloudburst - I'm lovin you Nightchill - Hop skip & jump Probably get told I'm wrong but hey who cares Billy
  22. guess which finger I'm holding up tehe only kidding thanks for mp3. Was nice as I've lost CD it's on...
  23. June Jackson - You're welcome (Musette) Would love one of these but fear I can't quite fund it. By all means e-mail if you've got one to let go (l_l_m_w@hotmail.co.uk) but can't promise anything I'm afraid... Here's hoping though! Ta Mark
