Interesting to note this was co-written by Billy Nichols who has had a very interesting musical career .... https://billynicholsmusic.com/billy-nichols-story/ when I talked to him about the Al Scott 45 a few years ago he remembered it well. He also said that 'Albert' had left NY in the mid-90s and he hadn't seen or spolen to him since. andy

All I can add is that there is no record of this in the Motown database up to 1972. That doesn't mean it isn't a Motown connected track but almost certainly not a project of theirs prior to '72 I don't recognise the vocal at all so can't suggest a Motown artist who it could possibly be. That of course adds nothing as Motown recorded a number of artists who never saw a commercial release Andy

My search so far has only found a Drum copy listed on Record Haven ... i'm begin to worry i might have dreamt it all up .. still doesn't explain why I noted it down in my book at the time What was interesting, looking at those old lists, is noting the fact that the Honey Bees - She Don't Deserve You (Fontana) at £30 was more expensive than Tomangoes, Mel Britt, Candi Staton, Yvonne Baker, Four Perfections, Freddie Chavez and so on. In 1979, or thereabouts, i recall being at a St Ives all-dayer and Jonathan played Billy Hambric. I was standing on the stage at the time and was taken aback to see that his copy was on Fury, yellow label with black block lettering. i asked to have a look at it as I'd never seen one before. I then seem to recall the 45 appeared on a Record Haven sales list for circa £40 .... So ... did I imagine things or does it really exist Any idea where that copy went or if others reside in anybody's collection. It doesn't seem to appear in the Fury label listings that I've seen .. granted i won't have seen them all So .. thoughts anybody Thanks Andy

Rob Thomas and I visited her many years ago early one Saturday morning at her home in Buffalo NY Sadly no pictures ... she hadn't put her slap on so declined the photo opportunity. Nick was at work. We left with a trio of La Salle 45s .. Lynn Terry, Utopias & Antiques + her solo 45 on Rust Andy
