  1. Tony, do you know when they issued the Al Green 45? It just hit me that they might've issued it to cash in on Talking Heads hit version of it from 1978.
  2. It's from 1977. "(Get Ready For) The Changes" utilises the same backing track as Lee Harris "I'm Gonna Get Your Thing" and Marva Whitney "Daddy Don't Know About Sugar Bear" (both also on Forte). Have a listen: https://www.recordmania.net/media/music/SLN61955A.mp3 Haven't heard the flipside. Labelscan:
  3. Amazing LP. "I Must Be In A Good Place Now" on that album is one of my all-time favourite tunes. Has moved me to tears several times. Totally agree with Joe South and Boz Scaggs as well (George Freeman's version of "I'll Be Long Gone" on EPIC is also great). The two volumes in the "Country Got Soul" series are both well worth checking out if you're into this kind of sound. Here they are: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Country-Got-Soul-1/dp/B00009WNAU/ https://www.amazon.co.uk/Country-Got-Soul-V.../dp/B0002JU61W/
  4. Haven't read that one, but another book "Say It One Time For The Broken Hearted - The Country Side Of Southern Soul" by Barney Hoskyns also tackles this topic. A very good read in my opinion. Here it is: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Say-One-Time-Broke...d/dp/074754137X
  5. A superb tune, but it really would surprise me if it would get plays on the northern scene. Great ballad flipside as well ("Changin' Colors")!
  6. Only about 1-2 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking! :-)
  7. Warner Music Group owns Rhino Records and a couple of years ago "The Peanut Duck" was included on Rhino's box set "One Kiss Can Lead to Another - Girl Group Sounds Lost and Found". That's probably why WMG have interfered and the reason why that YouTube video doesn't have any sound. Rhino usually does things "by the book" and they must've licensed it from someone. Does anyone of you have that box-set and can see what's in the liner notes?
  8. Fantastic pounding tune. Sounds great at a venue. Still fairly unknown it seems. It is £75 in Manship's latest guide, but usually sells for £20-£30. Also... Craig Moerer has currently got 35 M- copies in stock priced at $75 each.
  9. Can't see why I should be in trouble? Anyone that would've put the following into a google search would've found that MP3: "King Moses" "I Forgot To Say (I Love You)" It's available from a public server.
  10. It's a recently made bootleg.
  11. "I Forgot To Say (I Love You)"
  12. That must be the 12". The 7" is very easy to find. Craig Moerer has got 8 copies in stock at $10 each: https://www.recordsbymail.com/search.php?keywords=191352

  15. I know what you mean, but it sure seems to be in-demand (and that ofcourse pushes up the price regardless of anyones opinion on what a record was worth prior to it being in-demand). I sold a copy in July last year for $256 and Manship's two previous auction copies have sold for £92 and £137.
  16. Only about 2-3 hours left on these auctions now! Thanks for looking. :-)
  17. So... are the F&E and RCA releases different recordings?
  18. Yes, you're right. But it's still the second issue. As for the blue issue fetching more than the orange one, I'll put that down to lack of knowledge that it was the second issue.
  19. If you do a decent google search you'll find that a copy sold on eBay a month or so ago: https://www.google.se/search?hl=sv&q=%2...3%B6k&meta= And as Gareth points out there is a copy listed on Gemm (I doubt if it's still available though...): https://www1.gemm.com/item/LOVEJOY--JAMES/T...A/GML122856117/
  20. It might be rarer on blue label, I actually don't know, but the orange label is the original issue and the blue label is the second issue.
  21. From 1978 according to the RCA discography: James Lovejoy - Divide & Conquer / This Will Always Be My Baby's Tune - RCA 11367
  22. That's what I've heard, but would love to actually hear the record as well. Is it the exact same recording and just a different mix? Or a different recording?
  23. Can someone please post up a soundclip of the local issue? It's supposed to be a different version (or mix) than the RCA release. Would be great to hear it. All 4 songs on their two RCA 45s are good, so in my opinion the issue copies should be most desirable of both 45s. Or getting the LP.
  24. There's about 2 days left on these auctions.
  25. Heat, or the 45 being placed in a stressing position during a lengthy period of time. Combine these two and you're in for disaster. To denote that the record is a "cut-out" copy (sold at a discounted price) and could not be returned to the store you bought it in or to the record distributor where the store got their records from. The same goes for the splashes of gold paint that can be found on the labels of many 45s.
