It was a first issue that just sold for $463. A pretty decent price, the latest bunch of copies on eBay have sold for $500-$700.

Most Expensive British Demo And Issue And Usa Demo And Issue
Sebastian replied to Staceys Dad's topic in All About the SOUL
It seems to be an italian tune from the beginning. The writing credits are: Gene Colonnello, Mario Panzeri and Conrad. "Conrad" is perhaps the person that wrote the english lyrics? I have no idea really, just putting it out there. -
It's on his website: https://www.recordsbymail.com/search.php?keywords=391679

Is it Cilla Black, perhaps? The Bystanders also recorded that tune on Piccadilly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21ARXNvPuJc -
About £10-£15 or cheaper. I'd make sure to get the MGM release though, the one on AQUARIAN has got the backing vocals (by a bunch of screaming kindergarten school kids!) very high in the mix which completely ruins it for me.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the mix.

I agree, those "raised lip" King/Federal 45s are strange ones. I have no idea which pressing plant they were made at, but they are definitely original 60s pressings. I've got a whole stack of non-indemand King/Federal stuff with "raised lip" edge that wouldn't be worth bootlegging (alternatively were bought long before they were indemand), i.e. most of the King Pins 45s, most of the Johnny Guitar Watson 45s, plus many others by Expressions, James Duncan, Freddy King, Bobby King, Tab Smith, Moon Mullican, Lee Shot Williams, Tiny Topsy etc.

As far as uptempo stuff I really like the highlighted ones below, especially "I've Got My Baby" and "That's What You Mean To Me": Federal 12484 - It Won't Be This Way Always / How Long Will It Last - 1963 Federal 12505 - Monkey One More Time / With The Other Guy - 1963 Federal 12517 - Two Hearts / I Won't Have It - 1964 Federal 12519 - You're Using Me / I Got The Monkey Off My Back - 1964 Federal 12525 - Just Keep On Smiling / I'm A Lonesome Rooster - 1964 Sims 287 - My Love Grows Stronger / I've Got My Baby - 1966 Excello 2290 - That's What You Mean To Me / Coming On In – 1967 Excello 2295 - Haven't I Been Good To You / If It Wasn't For Your Love - 1968 (version of Johnny Moore on WAND)

Thanks, Tommy! I'm glad you like the selection. L.A.X. and Tony Northern (I could hardly believe the artist name when I found the 45!) sure are absolute monster tunes, and the good news is that both are cheapies as well!

The first issue of the Mighty Ryeders LP goes for decent money:

It's the same version, but luckily (in my opinion) with the long slow intro edited out.

Jesse Fisher - You're Not Loving A Beginner
Sebastian replied to Mister Fish's topic in Look At Your Box
There are two different pressings of the white label issue. One has got the same matrix number as the multi-coloured copies (W104A), and the other one has got an added "3" to the matrix number (W104A3). This might explain some of the confusion regarding sound quality and why some of the white label ones sound cleaner and have a different mastering than the multi-coloured ones. They've got different spellings of the title as well - YOUR vs. YOU'RE. See below: -
I might be wrong, but I don't think it's the same Rita Lee on the Charay 45. The Rita Lee you're thinking of is from Brazil and was a member of the legendary group Os Mutantes. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rita_Lee https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Os_Mutantes
-
And here is the alternative CHARAY 90 that I mentioned in the other thread: CHARAY 90 - Cresa Watson - If You've Stopped Loving Me / You're No Good I don't really think that any of the "later" white label Charay/LeCam 45s are bootlegs, Major Bill Smith just kept repressing his releases if he noticed any kind of demand from anyone. He seems to have started using white labels instead of yellow ones around 1970/1971.
-
Superior indeed! Are you thinking of the Spain issue of "Talk About Love"? None of the three US issues of "Talk About Love" has got "The Soul Of A Man" on its flipside. The original US issue of Pic & Bill's "The Soul Of A Man" is on the flipside of "Gonna Give It To You" on BLUE ROCK.

I just noticed that one of the Charay listings on the net now mentions: Charay 90 - Cresa Watson - Salvation / You're No Good But mine is: Charay 90 - Cresa Watson - If You've Stopped Loving Me / You're No Good No mention of "Salvation" on the labels on my copy.
