  1. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html SOUL / FUNK / BOOGIE / R&B highlights: Nicky Newarkers ("Woman"), Sage ("I'm Alive"), Tony Galla ("In Love"), New Yorkers, Darondo Pulliam, Intrepids, Gizzelle, Keni Lewis, Macar Brothers, Charles Brimmer, Exsaveyons, City News, Oscar Perry, Tommy Trojan, Roy Porter Sound Machine, Fabulous Apollos, Jay Mitchell, Freddie Scott, Jabo, Outfit, Ron Kenoly etc. Thanks for looking! Take care. /Sebastian
  2. All 3 of Mark Capanni's recordings are in refosoul. All are good (especially "If Life Was A Ferris Wheel" which is phenomenal). I don't quite get why people think of them - or try to make them into - soul recordings though? They've got far more in common with the west coast / AOR stuff from about the same time by J.D. Souther, Jackson Browne and especially Ned Doheny. I don't think Capanni's goal was to out-do Tyrone Davis that day inte studio when he cut those tracks!
  3. Which Brief Encounter?
  4. If it's of any help, the full names of the songwriters are George Wright, Clarence Nelson and John W. Cole.
  5. The LINDA release was its first original issue from 1965. The RAMPART and WARNER BROS release are re-issues from 1969.
  6. As far as I know, Atlantic didn't start using red/white demos until the mid-60s. Popsike has logged 16 copies of "Hungry Man" for sale on eBay during the past 4 years. Only 3 of those were black/white demos, the remaining 13 copies were black/red issues.
  7. When this tune was re-issued in 1969 by Warner Bros, that intro must've sounded horribly out of date and that's perhaps a reason why they edited it out? The Rampart 45 issue is by the way also a re-issue from 1969 that was released to promote an LP of past local hits from the LINDA/GORDO/FARO/WHITTIER/RAMPART stable of labels. The title of the LP is "Golden Treasures Volume Two: West Coast East Side Revue". The original Linda 45 release is from 1965.
  8. Not that it matters really... but if anyone might be interested in where he "comes from", Eli guested the Galactic Fractures radio show back in December 2006 and you can still download the podcast from this site: https://www.galacticfractures.com/?p=34 Here's what he played: Jo Jo and The Outcast - Whole Lotta Woman (Soundorific) Little Mack Simmons - Givin Me A Hard Time (Dud Sound) Junior Wells - Up In Heah (Bright Star) Willie Harper - But I Couldnt (Alon) Lester Young - I've Got The Right (Old Town) Johnny Little John and Guitar - Kitty O (Margaret) Sonny Green - Jodys On The Run (Hill) Jimmy Robins - I Can't Please You (Jerhart) Ricky Allen - Cut You A Loose (Age) Cathy Lynn - Dollars and Cents (Heart & Soul) Mable John - Dont Hit Me No More (Stax) The Kelly Brothers - I'd Rather Have You (Sims) The Raelettes - I'm Gettin Long Alright (tangerine) Bobby Powell - Done Got Over (Whit) Arthur K Adams - Gimmie Some Of Your Lovin (Modern) Eddie Ray - I Stand Accused (Prix) OV Wright - Treasured Moments (Backbeat) Jimmy Delphis - Don't Sign The Paper Baby (Karen) Johnny Adams - You Gonna (Modern) Johnny Daye - A Lot Of Progress (Parkway) Betty Adams - Make It Real (Notes Of Gold) Betty Bibbs - First Come First Served (GeNeva) Eddie Burns - Messing With My Bread (Harvey) Gene Evans - Keep On Keeping On (Golden Beam) Walter Hamilton - Nobody But Me (HiQ) Ohio Untouchables - I'm Tired (LuPine) Paul Kelly - Stealing In The Name Of The Lord (Happy Tiger) Lattimore Brown - Sweet Desiree (Renegade) Mitty Collier - I'd Like To Change Places (Entrance) Bob and Earl - Deep Down Inside (Tempe) Bobby Slone - Hoodoo Man (DreaM) Frank Frost - My Back Scratcher (Jewel) Arlene Brown - I'm A Streaker (Dud Sound) Fenton Robinson - Cryin The Blues (PM) JL Smith - Did You Do The Mosquito (FM) Ray Charles - I Can Make It Through The Days (tangerine) Virgil Griffin and Rhythm Kings - If You Can't Go Don't (Reginald) Chris Jones - I'm The Man (Goodie Train) Jeb Stuart - Soul Jerk It Baby (King) Johnny Adams - A Man Will Shed A Few Tears Too (Pacemaker) Frank Lynch - Young Girl (My Records) Binky Griptite - Stone Soul Christmas (Daptone) A great show!
  9. The only two records I have EVER had pulled from eBay were early Shakin' Stevens 45. They got pulled because it had been reported to eBay from "Shakin' Stevens management" that the items I was selling were unofficial release. BUT THEY WERE NOT! They were however 45s/EPs from his 1970-1980 pre-EPIC days that he for some reason apparently wants to have erased from everyone's memory. When I contacted his management about the matter they were adamant that anything by Shakin' Stevens that isn't still in print and for sale through his current record label are unofficial releases. Quite amazing really.
  10. There's a copy for $12.22 (about £8.50) on Gemm if it's of any help: https://www.gemm.com/item/V.A./RARE--SOUL--UNCOVERED--VOL.3/GML292503087/
  11. See post #3 in this thread. It has got all the info that you need. There are indeed at least two bootlegs of this 45. One with pale blue label and one with dark blue label.
  12. Fantastic. Congrats to him!
  13. No, this one was at $670 with several hours to go. Apparently the seller has already recieved the payment according to posts on another forum about this.
  14. Only 4 hours to go on these auction now. Thanks for looking! :-)
  15. The original should have S-002 B in the run-out groove (NOTE! it should have a B, not an A) on the "Philly Dog" side and directly opposite of the S there should be PES stamped. The copies you have are bootlegs seeing that they both have got variations of S-002 A in the runout groove.
  16. There's now about 2 days left on these auctions.
  17. It is in my experience one of the absolute hardest to find 45s on Prelude and seldom turns up for sale. However, when it does it usually goes for $30-$50, but I suspect that's just down to it not being particularly well known. It was the third 7" release on Prelude and it doesn't exist on 12" as far as I know. Two great sides.
  18. It had over 30 watchers within the first day of getting listed, so with or without SoulSource bumps there is obviously a lot of interest in it.
  19. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to all records. 20. Yes, you did. That was the copy above that I sold. It got snapped up by a guy in London. I don't think that he's on this forum (have never seen his name on here).
  21. NOTE that there are two different mixes on DE-TO as well. One with strings and one without.
  22. It's "Why Build A Mountain" by Tony Morgan And The Mussel Power Band.
  23. Haha! That's my old 45 case! It's an old vacuum cleaner case (!) from the 70s. It's really bad and I don't use it anymore. It did the trick for a while, but there are far better boxes out there that are specifically made for housing 45s.
  24. Only 2-3 hours to go on these auctions now. Thanks for looking! :-)
  25. No, it isn't the Cymballine 45. That one is an instrumental: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMiJu2nMRMk
