  5. Absolute MONSTER tune! Superb funk dancer on the flipside on this as well: https://www.parkersrc.com/images/WEBMP3/toddlintown144b.mp3
  6. That's a seriously good and rare 45. I've never seen another copy apart from the one I have (and included in the November 2007 mix that you mentioned).
  7. I think Marva Whitney's version is superb:
  8. The original release was on CHARLIE as Michael's Mystics. It was later picked up by METROMEDIA and issued as by The Mystics.
  9. Sorry, don't have a copy of either for sale, but the original version is by Nova's Nine, issued on ABC. The tune is written by Bob Mann who was a member of that group.
  10. The 4:51 long COLUMBIA release of Philly Devotions "I Just Can't Say Goodbye" was mixed by Tom Moulton and it is a better/punchier (and longer) mix than the issue on DON DE.
  11. Only 1-2 hours to go on these auctions now: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  12. Don't know if it's the same guy, but there's a Tony Turner that is supposed to be David Ruffin's godson and apparently also workded as a Motown road manager. Interview with him: https://www.classicba...rInterview.html He's also written some books about The Temptations and The Supremes: https://www.amazon.co...t_athr_dp_pel_1
  13. That might explain why I've never been able to find that 45 (as by Angela Davis)!
  14. There's now about 3 days left on these auctions: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html

  16. The japanese copy above is a reissue from 1993. The reason it was made available in mono is probably because that is the best mix of the album and the way it was supposed to sound at the time of release. The japanese P-VINE LPs usually use the "proper" intended source when they reissue stuff.
  17. I really like his original version of "Soulful Kind Of Music" on CROWN LTD:

  19. Same label and same cat# but different artist name (Sugar Hill).
  20. It's a previously unissued tune by Lafayette Vaughan which was included on Goldmine's "Detroit Soul From The Vaults Vol. 2" CD (GSCD 20). There was a track by him called "That's Bad" on their "The Lost Soul Of Detroit" CD as well (GSCD 21). According to the liner notes: "Recorded in November 1971. Basically a street person of Detroit who set up his own release at no cost to the company to be able to say he had made a record"
  21. That all sound amazing, Tony!
  22. Cue: Dan Penn - The FAME Songwriting Demos - CDKEND tba Now wouldn't that be nice?
  23. Some of the DJ copies are indeed pink.
  24. Superb early effort by Lew Kirton. Much harder to find than the price above (or any guides) indicates. Have a listen:
