  1. Cat# for "boing boing" 12" is DM 81853. Cat# for "boing boing" 7" is DM 1879. Cat# for "non-sound effects" 7" is MD 1932 (says DM 1932 in the deadwax, so "MD" on the label is probably a printing error).
  2. Yes. Scans of both issues, side by side, can be found here:
  3. Here's a strange one that I've got. King Coleman's "Black Bottom Blues" is usually seen with a big hole, but my copy has got a small centre and is pressed on styrene.
  4. Only 4-5 hours to go on these auctions now: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  5. Found this info about a UK LP: Leon Haywood - It's Got To Be Mellow - MCA - MUPS 369 - UK Have never had it myself so can't give you any more info.
  6. There's now about 2 days left on these auctions: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html
  7. Sounds like the most likely scenario in my opinion. Once the 7" reached the market, most people who were interested had probably already bought the LP or went with the Brother To Brother version which appeared in the charts during the autumn of 1974. By the way, as far as the french issue is concerned, the record with catalouge number directly after "The Bottle" was issued in 1975.
  8. Sorry, can't find any mention of it in the singles charts.
  9. Make of it what you will, but references to "The Bottle" as being a US "hit single" appeared in Billboard Magazine in the November 9 and November 23 issues of 1974. See scans below. References to the album "Winter In America" which the tune was taken from appeared in Billboard Magazine from late June 1974 up until about January 1975. 9 November 1974: 23 November 1974:
  10. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Take care. /Sebastian
  11. NICE SLEEVE! I've never seen a photo of them so big thanks for that. Also worth to note that "15 Minutes" on the release above is very different and "more northern" (if you understand what I mean...) compared to the US issue (which has got annoying "boing boing" disco effects throughout).
  12. I wouldn't dare to make a guess actually. The labels not being perfectly round is a bit odd, but stranger things have happened I guess? Sorry for not being of much help on this one.
  13. This might be of help: https://www.collectorsfrenzy.com/Details.aspx?id=250418865839
  14. For some strange reason I quite like the other Jonathan Capree 45 as well. It's very quirky though and would probably rub even more people the wrong way than "Gonna Build..." does!
  15. No, both the original and the bootleg are pressed on vinyl. It's a good counterfeit, and the person(s) that have made it have tried really hard to copy the original matrix details but have ofcourse failed. The way how to tell the two apart can be found in this post:
  16. The biggest reason for auctions not turning up in searches is probably because the "Maximise your listings visibility" box hasn't been clicked. If you list things on the .co.uk site and don't click that box (and pay the extra fee...) your auctions will not show up on the .com or .ca sites. If you list on the .com site and don't click it, your auctions will not show up on the .co.uk site. As suggested I'm sure there are other glitches in their search system as well, but this seems to cause a lot of confusion and missed opportunities. Below is what the box looks like on the UK and US sites (it is located on the last page before you "publish" your auction). UK: US:
  17. Pete, the Essence Of Love 45 you have is neither on Popsike nor in Manship's guide. The people you're talking to (except Dave) seems to be confusing it with the "Yes It's You" 45 which was released both as Eugene Smiley And The Essence Of Love and also as just Essence Of Love.
  18. Indeed, the boot guide is outdated. The only way to go at this point is the 5th edition of the price guide.
  19. The track "Independent Bahamas" by Biosis Now on that LP is also superb in my opinion.
  20. Odd indeed! The Cats were a band from The Netherlands. "Marian" gained a US release in 1970 on RARE EARTH, I guess that's why it turned up on turkish Tamla Motown. It's gentle soft rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiJUCY1GaLo
  21. Big thanks everyone for the suggestions! Really looking forward to this trip.
  22. Great tune indeed. There's a good version by Lee Moses as well (on his LP).
  23. If "by a few years" they mean 20+ years, then by all means! The gold labeled Four Voices 45 is from the mid-80's at the very earliest, probably more like early 90's. Regardless of its legality, the fact that it was done from the original plates or who reissued it... it's a totally worthless record to someone who collects original releases.
  24. 70s floaters hardly ever get any better than this. Top, top tune!
  25. Only 7-8 hours to go on these auctions now: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
