  1. Just a thought: if you let the turntable rotate while applying the glue, the centrifugal force will propel the glue outwards causing more spillover than if the record was still. At least have it on 33rpm instead of 45rpm.
  2. Totally off-topic, I know... but if anyone has got the other Mighty Ryeders 45 on Sun-Glo for sale, please PM me.
  3. Indeed: Obviously didn't reach the chart though.
  4. That's a bootleg CD. Might as well just burn your own CDr.
  5. Using that reasoning, The Temptations wasn't "signed" to Motown until 1980. Yet I think most people would consider their recordings for Gordy and Miracle during the 60s and 70s to be "Motown recordings". The Motown label was started after Tamla.
  6. Nick And The Jaguars is the correct answer. They were not signed to the label, but did a one-off 45 on Tamla in August 1959.
  7. Some info here from an old thread: You can go up and read some of the posts above that one as well for more.
  8. It sure is! (but I would say that, I guess... ).
  9. I'll take 50 copies at £15, please. No one who knows how to properly sell records should have any problems getting £100 or more for either the demo or issue of "Your Number 1" on original Arctic. The issue is very rare, I've only ever had one copy of that one but sold it when I got myself a demo. "Make Your Move" is not in-demand with garage collectors (I don't know where the origin of that info comes from, but it's been quoted for ages) plus it was issued as the flipside on three different Volcanos 45s (this was its third appearance) so wouldn't be the reason that drives up the price.
  10. Yes. The release on the LK label is in stereo and is from 1976 and has also got a different flipside.
  11. Fantastic track! PLEASE, don't release it on an EP. A proper 2-track 45 will have much better/louder sound.
  12. I'm not having a go at anyone here, but what I personally don't understand is why a lot of people are of the opinion that a service like the one PayPal offers should be free? As if it's som kind a human right to free of charge get payments sent to you by using a system/service which someone else finances. I get charged 4% or so everytime someone pays with a VISA/credit card in the record shop that I run here in my hometown. I don't ask the customers to pay $52 on a $50 purchase. I have to take that fee on the chin or calculate those 4% into my prices.
  13. The "Believe In Me" side should be. It's a fantastic dancer!
  14. What a bizarre feeling. They're walking past the house I live in in that video clip! I went to that night when he DJed in Malmoe.
  15. ...and has got a far superior mid-tempo dancer on the flipside:
  16. It is a rare 45. The copy that just sold is the 6th documented copy (there might ofcourse be more, but no one has stepped forward with info about it). It has been a "known" and hunted 45 for at least 13 years.
  17. MGM bought the Verve label in 1961.
  18. It ofcourse doesn't "prove" anything else than the fact that many copies of this 45 exist in the UK, but out of the 73 pink issues that can be found of this title on Popsike, only 6 were sold from the US. The rest came from UK sellers.
  19. Does anyone know for sure when the issue of "It Really Hurts Me Girl" was pressed? I've read that it only came out as a demo, then Red Coach's distribution deal with Chess came to an end, the release was scrapped and it was only later that issues were pressed up to satisfy UK demand. Does anyone know what actually happened? Red Coach obviously changed distribution deal from Chess to Red-Lite after the Carstairs demo was pressed, but the new Red-Lite distribution info doesn't appear on the cat# directly after the Carstairs 45, but it does appear on #804. Check it out:
  20. The line-up was different when they recorded it. That photo is from later in time. More info here:
  21. Here is a promo and an issue of the original release with "distribution/address" at the bottom:
  22. Nice! Wrong sleeve though...
  23. Only 5-7 hours to go on these auctions now: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
