  1. Have added it to Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/release/23645975-Nimo-King-And-The-Wildsiders-Im-Leavin-You-Somebody-Call-The-Station
  2. Both sides were also recorded by Johnny Otis on King. O-Cal was Johnny Otis publishing company. Both sides penned by Johnny Otis and Nehemia King. Nehemia King must be Nimo King. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VF405dFmTN8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7-185DuQTY
  3. It's 2022 and they're selling an ebook on a USB drive. The mind boggles. It's a fantastic book. Someone should re-publish it instead as a regular size book with normal size lettering.
  4. For the sake of transparency, the copy that I sold on ebay on June 8 came out of an extensive blues collection here in Sweden that recently was sold via a local auction house. It did not come from a recent find/stash.
  5. That copy was severely warped and didn't play correctly during the first third of the songs. Regardless, it was listed without soundfile and few people seems to have been aware of it prior to funkyou's auction. Soundclips and seller reach is everything when it comes to these types of records.
  6. Just use another sniper if you don't have trust in esnipe. There are lots of alternatives out there (Gixen for example).
  7. ebay doesn't own esnipe. ebay would never encourage sniping as it usually makes bidders pay less than they would've if they'd bid the "regular" way and pushed the price up (resulting in lower fees for the seller).
  8. Hammon Singers - Faith In God - HOSANNA
  9. The Soul Stirrers cover-up.
  10. This one is definitely a scarce record. Only one copy through ebay (in 2015) and not listed on Discogs (it is listed on 45cat though). Doesn't float my boat at all, but it's not a common record.
  11. It's the Traffic Jam version of "I Can't Get Over You" that goes for money. Chet Davenport's has got annoying off-key vocals.
  12. That's because the seller uses ebay's Global Shipping Programme. If the seller didn't, you wouldn't have to pay VAT at checkout. You would however have to pay it upon arrival to the UK and if the seller states the actual value on the customs form you will have to pay the appropriate sum, if the seller states a low value you would have to pay a nominal sum. Hope this makes sense. Ebay doesn't collect VAT on items over £135 unless the seller uses Global Shipping Programme. They (and the legal system) expects the seller to state the actual sale price of the item so that correct VAT and customs fees can be charged upon arrival to the destination country.
  13. £395: https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/contours-it-s-so-hard-being-a-loser-your-love-grows-more-precious-every-day-tamla-motown-tmg-605-dj-193979.html
  14. Yes, that should also be the case with Discogs. I'm not in the UK so don't know how Discogs apply VAT to UK orders, but it would surprise me if they charged VAT on orders over £135 as it's a UK governmental policy. More info: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/changes-to-vat-treatment-of-overseas-goods-sold-to-customers-from-1-january-2021/changes-to-vat-treatment-of-overseas-goods-sold-to-customers-from-1-january-2021
  15. Ebay doesn't collect VAT on items with a hammer price that exceeds £135. If the seller states the full value on the package then it's due for VAT and customs charges upon its arrival to the UK. If it gets "caught" that is.
  16. I'm guessing it was just cut as a demo to shop around the song. Both Jean Terrell and Breakwater recorded versions of it that were released.
  17. I sold it, the winner is on here, but I'd imagine they'd wish to remain anonymous. A fantastic track indeed and a unique item.
  18. Lucifer is Nicke Andersson's "new" group together with his wife Johanna. Nicke used to be in Hellacopters, Imperial State Electric an death metal pioneers Entombed. This choice of a tune to cover doesn't surprise me, as he's a big r&b/soul fan. The Hellacopters, a garage group that I absolutely loved when they came onto the scene in 1995-1997, covered Silky Hargreaves "You're Too Good To Me Baby" and another one of his groups, the heavily soul influenced The Solution covered Fantastic Four's "Can't Stop Looking For My Baby", Albert King's "Had You Told It Like It Was" etc.
  19. The same bidder bought 48 items from that latest auction, expensive ones but also some on the cheaper end of the spectrum. A few others were Little Jimmy Tyson, Les Getrex, Tony Troutman, Inell Young, Liberation, Frankie & Johnny, RB Hudmon, Noel Owen, Magic Morris, Fantastyk, Downtime, the "other" Bileo 45 (Bill Williams & Billeo) etc. etc.
  20. All three Charay issues of "Talk About Love" are pressed from the same stamper/mother if I remember correctly. It is mastered loud, but my copies sound OK. Might be a case of sounding better with some styluses etc.
  21. I used to collect Pic & Bill. Both "What Does It Take" and the Fiery Spartans 45 are incredibly scarce. I also have the Pic & Bill credited "Talk About Love" 45 on Charay (exists with two different flipsides though). I probably should get rid of one of those "TAL"'s, as I don't need two!
  22. @Pat Bleasdale and @Tomangoes, big thanks for listening and for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed listening!
