  1. Well, there you go! Thanks for the info.
  2. I know. But why is the yellow/red labelled issue at all considered an original? Its catalogue number is 13 numbers after the green styrene issue. Surely a reissue of some sort?
  3. I've always been of the impression that the only true original issue of "Manifesto" is the green labeled one (cat# LEGEND 1001), pressed on styrene and credited to Case Of Tyme.
  4. I have it. It's a rare 45 (or scarce at least) and doesn't turn up very often. Took me years to find it.
  5. Thanks for the comments and downloads everyone! I'm glad you're enjoying the selection.
  6. Which Jimmy Burns 45 is "hardly rare"? "I Really Love You"? For sure not impossible to track down if you have the money, but pretty elusive I'd have to say.
  7. It's a pity that these were the last two 45s on the Kellmac label. Would've been intersting to see how far they could've taken it speed-wise!
  8. Combinations is about 156 bpm. C.O.D.'s is about 174 bpm. For comparison "Do I Love You" by Frank Wilson is about 144 bpm, "I'm Gone" by Eddie Parker is about 138 bpm.
  9. "She's fire" is a truly fantastic tune in my book. And before anyone comes dragging with the old "it wouldn't have gotten the time of day if it was a £10 record" spiel... Like most people who hear a tune for the first time, I had no idea of its rarity the first time I heard it. It just blew me away and I've wanted a copy ever since. "She's Fire" is a unique sounding tune and very fast indeed. Whether you can dance to it or if it's suitable in a northern soul context is totally irrelevant in my opinion.
  10. Went far "cheaper" than I thought it would actually.
  11. Which means that you have to trust the postie 100%. All I know is that airsure packages delivered to Sweden are delivered with the regular post, it is NOT scanned by the postie before it is slipped through the mailbox. To pick up packages sent registered to Sweden (at your doorstep or at the post office, not including airsure though) you have to show your ID. Actually if the name on the package and the name on the ID doesn't match the package will be returned to sender and I'm not allowed to collect it. Has happened a couple of times to me when the package has been mailed to "S. Fonzeus" or "Mr. Fonzeus" instead of "Sebastian Fonzeus". The reasoning being that someone else on that same address MIGHT have the same lastname as me but a different first name beginning with the same letter as mine. Splitting hairs I know, but it has happened at least 3 times to me. Was NOT happy when I left the post office those times...
  12. When I have 45s sent to me registered from the UK to Sweden I always ask the sender NOT to send it by "airsure". As you wrote, "airsure" doesn't require a signature when delivered, the package is simply slipped through the mailbox just like an ordinary non-registered package. I fail to see how the seller can prove that the package has been delivered when using "airsure". They might be compensated by Royal Mail if the package goes amiss, I don't know, but from a buyers perspective who wants to recieve the 45 rather than getting a refund it's a crap piece of service and not worth paying extra for.
  13. You could try PMing or e-mailing him (as he asked interested parties to do) instead of posting in the sales thread: https://www.soul-sour...omMemberID=8653
  14. The claim that it was released in 1977 is probably due to an error (or assumption) in a discography that has been copied and copied and copied. The actual 45 looks NOTHING like a 1977 release. It looks and feels like a late 60s release and the typesetting and layout looks a whole lot more like other late 60s/early 70s releases on tiny New York labels.

  16. The J Mercy Baby P&P label was from Mississippi. The one being discussed here was from New York.
  17. B-side is instrumental. Credited to Smoky Brooks. Smoky Brooks - Long Time Ago (vocal) / Long Time Ago (instrumental) - P&P 1212
  18. By the way, have you seen the new box set consisting of almost 20 hours of music from the P&P affiliated labels? https://www.undergroundhiphop.com/pp-records-x-serato-pressings-pp-records-hits-hits-hits-3xaudio-dvds-book-poster-2x12-singles-w-serato-control-tone/PP1977ACC/

  22. What do you need to know? Exists both WITH and WITHOUT the screeching intro by the way.
  23. Try to find an old turntable that has the option to spin 16rpm records as well. Probably would make it a lot easier. Good luck!
