  1. Noticed a couple of days ago that the Sam Dees album also is on Spotify for those of you who use that service:
  2. That's a mispressing using the same labels as the 45 with 3 catalogue numbers prior to the Tony Galla 45. It must've escaped the pressing plant by mistake, "In Love" wasn't supposed to have been released like that. There actually is a 45 by Southbound Freeway that plays the correct tunes (and not Tony Galla): Southbound Freeway - Crazy Shadows / Revelations - SWAN 4272
  3. That's totally wrong. Anyone who agrees with you is wrong. A bootleg is an illegitimately produced record done without having cleared rights etc. Reissues or as you call them "retrospective releases" does not automatically become boots/bootlegs. This has nothing to do with whether or not you want to "play out" a bootleg or reissue while DJing. That's an entirely different discussion.
  4. During the past 5-6 years clean copies has constantly been fetching $150+. 3-4 years ago it was even higher ($200-$300).
  5. It looks 100% kosher to me. Check out the serrated outer edge on the label, just like on the original. I don't know any pressing plants that do that nowadays. https://www.ebay.com/itm/280975026092
  6. Carms, here's my Mixcloud channel in case you'd like to check it out. https://www.mixcloud.com/shingaling/ I've got 16 mixes on there at the moment, the latest one was uploaded two days ago. 7. Yes. They came from different pressing plants. The one on the left is on styrene and the one on the right is on vinyl. There are however bootlegs that utilises the design with the "guitar" illustration.
  8. If it's of any interest... I just made a new podcast/mix with some stuff that I've been spinning a lot over the past couple of months at the Soulin' night. Check it out if you feel like it in this thread:

  10. Just found this green labeled one on the net: The 45 on HEAD was released in 1972. The original release of "Barefootin'" is on NOLA from 1966. The Jesse Gresham track first turned up on JEWEL in 1971 as "The Penguin (part 2)" but without the drum break intro that can be heard on the HEAD release.
  11. Don't know if it's of any interest, but the night called Function which Helena, myself, Jonte and Joppe ran for 5 years here in Malmoe, Sweden is no more. But the website is still there with playlists: https://www.clubfunction.com/#category4 and mixes/podcasts: https://www.clubfunction.com/#category1 Myself, Helena and Jonte are currently running a new night called Soulin' at a new venue, but we don't have a website (just a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/soulinmalmo ) and haven't really been good at posting playlists as of late. Will have to do better with that. My own mixes can be found here, they are representative of what I play when DJing: https://www.shingaling.com/
  12. I think it's an interesting version of MBLTB. Much slower than Don Gardner's, and not particularly suited for the dancefloor, but a nice oddity. I know of four other EPs on the CLUB TEEN label apart from Les Fleurs and Harlem Kiddies. They are by Things, Tumble Downs, The Sheltones and New Generations. All of them are hard to find. Here is a scan as promised of the sleeve:
  13. Ofcourse. I didn't say anything about that. I just find it a bit funny that some people who otherwise are original-vinyl-only somehow think it's OK to play P-Vine reissues from the 90's as "originals". Oh well!
  14. The chances of finding this 45 when casually browsing for records in Copenhagen are probably between zero & 0% as well. I've seen 4 copies in 10 years. 3 of them without picture sleeve. I'll scan the picture sleeve on my copy and post it here. I can't find it on the net anywhere.
  15. Yes, it is very rare. Seldom turns up for sale. It was only released in Denmark. Came with a picture sleeve as well.
  16. They're pretty much the same. Both sound crap and are extremely bass-heavy. Doesn't really matter though. The P-Vine issue shouldn't be of interest to anyone who collects original issues. It's a reissue from 1990. The original LP is from 1971.
  17. If it was legal I find it highly unlikely that they would go to such trouble to replicate the Bell Sound stamp (and fail). I mean, why bother? It was most likely done to decieve buyers. The real "Bell Sound" stamp looks exactly the same on all 45s that it was used on.
  18. If it was this one you bought then you bought the japanese reissue: The original US Turbo issue is very rare.
  19. I have no idea, but it might be Chuck Cornish "A Tribute To Mohammed Ali" on WHITE CLIFFS: https://www.thesoulgirl.com/music/Northern%20Soul%2063/Chuck%20Cornish%20-%20A%20Tribute%20To%20Mohammed%20Ali%20-%20White%20Cliffs.mp3 Has got same backing track as Senator Jones "Do You Love Me":
  20. Is is a bootleg and definitely NOT made from the same stampers as the original first press demos and issues. The above does however have "Bell Sound" scratched into the deadwax, but it does NOT look the same as on the original. Someone tried to copy the "Bell Sound" stamp and did it fairly well, but ultimately failed. Check out this post for more info and comparisons:
  21. The artist is Emmitt Long. Full info: Emmitt Long - Call Me / You're Puzzling Me - DONOYIA A hard to find 45.
  22. According to the liner notes in Goldmine's "Northern Soul Fever vol. 2" (GSCD 43, released in 1993) it is: "A previously unreleased demo - Sirmatt - A Festival Recording" The Flirtations / Jimmy Ricks / Tommy Tucker "Festival" label? I guess "Sirmatt" is the publisher?
  23. I get 193.000+ here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/Records-/176985/i.html?_dmpt=Music_on_Vinyl&Genre=R%2526B%2520%2526%2520Soul&rt=nc ...and the "Motown" category is back...
