  1. The ELF label that Leon Collins was released on is not the same label as the ELF label that released Clifford Curry, Bobbi Lynn, Dan Folger etc. The ELF label that released Hollywood Saxons etc. is yet another different label.
  2. I don't know if it's a boot or legitimate release. I just wanted to know if there was something I missed that explained it to be an official reissue.
  3. What makes you think that?
  4. It's now only 2 days to go on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  5. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking! Take care. /Sebastian
  6. "Lucky Man" was used on two of Tolbert's 45s: ROJAC 6400 - Tolbert - Lucky Man / Got To Be Free ROJAC 6401 - Tolbert - Lucky Man / I've Got It You've got #6400. The one going for big money is #6401 because of the in-demand side "I've Got It".
  7. If it's of any use, and as Bob mentioned above, the terms "soul" and "soul music" starts to frequently appear in Billboard Magazine in 1966/1967, mostly in conjunction with the release of Arthur Conley's "Sweet Soul Music". There are previous mentions of the term though and it's worth noting that Otis Redding's "Sings Soul" LP was released in September 1965 (and that was a fairly high profile record). I guess the term "soul" wasn't in mainstream use until later in the decade, but I've found the following clippings/ads from 1965 Billboard issues where the "soul " term was used to describe a specific type of music. 24 JULY 1965: 5 JUNE 1965: 23 OCTOBER 1965:
  8. The entire set is on Spotify in case anyone would like to give it a listen: https://open.spotify.com/album/5o1s6PjS3L9BzVasm5noQe
  9. Regardless of what is up for grabs... why does anyone bid on anything when there are 20 days to go on an auction?
  10. On her H-D-H produced stuff there is. Both on the LP and 45s:
  11. H-D-H produced (and wrote several of the tracks on) her "Just Being Myself" LP on Warner Bros from 1973. That's perhaps where the recordings stem from?
  12. The Herbert Hunter info should be posted in Look At Your Box as well in my opinion. Unique stuff.
  13. I sold that one. I found it at a yard sale here in Sweden. Another issue of Carol & Gerri sold on eBay one month prior to my sale. It had a 1 cm edge crack but still managed to fetch £247.
  14. Interesting that at least three of the tunes on the Herbert Hunter LP were released in other versions on the ELF label. "Earthquake" by Bobbi Lynn. "Funky Street Band" by Buzz Cason. "She Shot A Hole In My Soul" by Clifford Curry. All of the above have close links to Mac Gayden and/or Buzz Cason. Plus there's a version of Robert Knight's "Branded" on there which also was penned and produced by Gayden/Cason. Might be a clue in there somewhere. Or not! and it's just coincidence. But I'd put money on the LP recording being linked to Gayden/Cason in one way or another.
  15. Not that odd. The tune was bootlegged on a 12" EP along with Krisp "Sunlight", Wynd Chymes "Baby You're The One" plus one more track. I'm not surprised at the prices it is achieving. It has got the "right" sound and isn't exactly easy to track down these days regardless of how many copies you had 30 years ago. It seldom turns up for sale.
  16. Don't know which Lasse you're referring to (Lasse Bang/Bong?), but I think the scandinavian guy jocko is thinking of is LarsC from Norway, he's on SoulSource, here's an old Invictus thread he started:
  17. It's a huge tune on the disco/boogie scene. Was bootlegged recently on a 12" as well.
  18. No, not on a 45.
  19. Post deleted. Nevermind...
  20. "Interesting" that The Patterson Twins changed the title/lyrics to "I Got Some Problems" on their version of that tune.
  21. It's now only 2-3 hours to go on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  22. Ofcourse there are deadwax differences between the two-line/one-line issues. You wrote that you had the one-line green issue. Why would I answer your question with info regarding a different issue than the one you have? If your deadwax is 11mm and not 13,88mm then yours is an original. Does your copy really have an upside down looking "V" instead of a proper "A" in the deadwax?
  23. If the deadwax has got three turns and is 13,88 mm wide plus that the "7078 A" in the deadwax lacks the "bar" in the A and looks like an upside down "V" instead of an "A" then it is a BOOTLEG. If it deadwax has got four turns it is the ORIGINAL.
