  1. Would be fantastic if they actually repressed it and made new stampers with a proper mastering that is much louder. As it is now it sounds very "thin" when you play it at a venue.
  2. Mainly "Walk With A Winner" on Liberty:
  3. Wow... I just listened to this "remix"... it must seriously be one of the worst things I've ever heard. https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/Rare-70s-80s/26534/reality-remix/#product Absolute and utter rubbish.
  4. Now that's one 45 you don't see offered for sale a lot! Rare and great.
  5. According to several sources Allen Zentz Mastering began their operation in 1974. https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/essential-allen-zentz-lp-masterings.108679/#post-2440775 https://www.discogs.com/label/254254-Allen-Zentz-Mastering
  6. Jimmy Fraser - Of Hopes And Dreams And Tombstones - COLUMBIA 43407 also released as: Youth Opportunity Program - Of Hopes And Dreams And Tombstones - COLUMBIA 43407
  7. Send it to me as a PM, I might be able to convert it into plain text.
  8. It's now only 2-3 hours to go on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  9. The so called "proper" ITZY release was itself a re-issue for the "oldies" market in Pittsburgh. ITZY released (and apparently still release!) lots of stuff primarily for that area. The ITZY re-issue has later been bootlegged(!) as well. Bottom line: the ITZY release is a re-issue of the original Swan release.
  10. I don't mean to tell you how to do this, but this is how I would do it: Yes you can tell people what to bid and you should in this kind of situation. First bidder comes in with £5500. Second bidder comes in with a bid of £5500. You contact the second bidder and tell them that there already is a bid of £5500 on the record and that they need to increase their bid if they want to have a chance of purchasing the record. Otherwise they're out. Then you tell the other bidders (if there are any) that a new bid has registered so that they know that they need to up their bids in case they still want to be in the running.
  11. It's now only 2 days to go on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  12. Original vs. bootleg/counterfeit below. Notice the "copied" appearance and much thinner lettering on the bootleg. I regularly see the counterfeits of this title being offered as originals.
  13. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking! Take care. /Sebastian
  14. That's one hell of a rare and great 45. Hardly ever turns up for sale. Took me years to track down a copy.
  15. I know what you mean, but it does exist as a counterfeit. Different width of the dead wax, pressed with low volume (the original is super loud) etc. A quite convincing bootleg, but with obviously "copied" label details (poor definition to the outlines of the text) if you have an original side by side to compare it with. I've had it and sold it.
  16. Great artist! I've been playing this a lot lately:
  17. That's vinyl. The label is moulded into the plastic (i.e. there is no "edge" of the label where you could - if you wanted to - put your nail and try to peel it off).
  18. That doesn't look like a styrene record. If you post a photo of the record outside of its sleeve, showing the edges of the label, someone on here can tell you for definite if it's vinyl or styrene.
  19. The white demo/promo was definitely bootlegged/counterfeited. Probably done early in the history of the "scene". It is mentioned in the 5th edition of Manship's price guide.
  20. Usually goes for $30-$50 (£20-£30) on eBay and there are at least 3 copies per month most times of the year. A well known US dealer had big quantity of this title (100+) a couple of years ago.
  21. Are we really still going over this? The delta number and run-out groove markings were deliberately forged and copied when they made the counterfeit pressed on vinyl (which is pictured at the top of this thread, it is NOT an original, I don't care what any "top collectors" said, since they are obviously wrong and either themselves own and compare it to the counterfeit OR don't know how to accurately scrutinize the differences between different presses, vinyl vs. styrene etc.). For example: take a look at the MR "stamp" on the vinyl counterfeit of this 45 and compare it to the ORIGINAL styrene press. It does not look the same. It should look the same if it was pressed at monarch (which the counterfeit wasn't). The bootleggers made a mistake when they forged the stamp on the vinyl counterfeit.
  22. Seems to be from Akron, Ohio. Many of the releases on the label are by roughly the same bunch of people recording under different names. More info here: https://www.buckeyebeat.com/harmonics.html
  23. By the way, has got the same basic backing track as the Tommy James version (he wrote it), but with added fuzz etc. Although I love Tommy James, his version of this is weak.
  24. The hype text above is from one of my old eBay listings. The Johnny Thunder version of "I'm Alive" is one of the best pieces of music ever recorded in my opinion. Interesting piece about it in an interview with Bob Dylan from a 1968 issue of "Rolling Stone" magazine: WENNER: Is there anything happening on the current rock and roll scene that strikes you as good? DYLAN: Yeah, I heard a record by Johnny Thunder. It’s called “I’m Alive.” Never heard it either, huh? Well, I can’t believe it. Everyone I’ve talked to, I’ve asked them if they’ve heard that record. WENNER: Is it on the radio right now? DYLAN: I don’t know. I heard it on the radio a month ago, two months ago... three months ago. It was one of the most powerful records I’ve ever heard. It’s called “I’m Alive.” By Johnny Thunder. Well, it was that sentiment, truly expressed. That’s the most I can say... if you heard the record, you’d know what I mean. But that’s about all...
