  1. It's now only 2 days to go on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking! [url=https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html]
  2. It was recorded in England. They were an english group.
  3. Thanks! Great info.
  4. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking! Take care. /Sebastian
  5. That might very well be the case. But who knows? In any case, here are the matrix details for the PINK Pameline issue (no mention of a Palmer #): A-side: PAM 200 A Nashville Matrix 95 B-side PM PAM 200 B Nashville Matrix 95
  6. OK, that makes sense. I'll dig out my pink PAMELINE issue and check the matrix details.
  7. I suppose you've seen these results and know this. But... last three times on eBay: 2014-07-21 - $362 (VG++) 2014-05-06 - $203 (VG/G+) 2013-09-15 - $294 (VG-) Valued to £400 in M- condition in Manship's latest guide.
  8. The yellow and pink PAMELINE releases does not have the same cat# as the PALMER issue. I think the release order is as follows: PAM 200 - pink PAMELINE PAM 100 - yellow PAMELINE (the above might be the other way around as well ofcourse, but I doubt it, the pink issue is a legit Nashville Matrix stamped release with fantastic fidelity) PALMER 5024 mentioned in Billboard 1967-Aug-12. VAULT 938 mentioned in Billboard 1967-Dec-16. UK VOCALLION reviewed in UK Record Mirror 1968-March-09. If the Pameline issues were released between the PALMER and VAULT releases it should at least have recieved a mention in Billboard. Further to this: The two PAMELINE issues only mention Ala-King as the publisher. The PALMER issue mentions Ala King and Palmerton as publishers. The VAULT issue mentions Ala King and Vault Publishing as publishers. 9. I don't know anything about it, but it's on Discogs with clear label scans at least: https://www.discogs.com/Roy-Cagle-Southern-Sun-Talkin-Bout-My-Baby/release/2193606

  13. "Back Up Train" apparently "first record the 21-year old artist ever made" according to Billboard Magazine 13 January 1968.
  14. If it's of any help: ZODIAC 1005 is mentioned on the "R&B Spotlights Chart" in an issue of Billboard Magazine from 9 September 1967. The "Back Up Train" / "Don't Leave Me" 45 on HOTLINE is mentioned for the first time in the 18 November 1967 issue and is reviewed in the 2 December 1967 issue.
  15. Was it ever released by him? Or just shopped around as a songwriters demo? Quite amazing that the song kept being recorded during such a long period of time by different artists. From 1966 to 1972. Apparently there's a version by Richard Williams as well on an LP called "Where Do I Go" on the Quad label produced by Johnny Pate. Has anyone of you heard it?
  16. I think it's this thread that Roburt tried to link to: https://faac.us/adf/messages/178308/180645.html?1223671085
  17. How many artists recorded this tune? I know of two more apart from the three mentioned above. The Original Cast(e) on DOT and Robin Wilson on A&M.
  18. Not directed at you personally Benji, just a general observation: I've never understood the "it's not an auction item" thing. Since when does auction houses only accept or deal in high value items? Everything can be auctioned. It's just another method of selling things. An auction can go both ways and I for sure notice that pretty much every week with my own sales - some records sell for far below what would be the percieved "set sale" or "book" price. Others go far higher. It all evens out in the end and I get rid of the stuff.
  19. I'm going to start commenting on all the records I dislike that are being discussed/mentioned here on SoulSource. I'll take the next week off work.
  20. Several Invictus 45's were released in Norway with picture sleeves. Germany, Australia, Canada as well according to 45cat.com. Probably several other European countries to add as well.
  21. It's definitely pressed in 1966. Manufactured at Rite. The Rite numbers allocated to this 45 (17867 and 17868) places it as a 1966 press: https://www.45rpmrecords.com/press/RITE.php?pageNum=11&totalRows=3405
  22. Considering the cat# pattern (65xx, 66xx, 67xx etc.), 1966 seems plausible: 6504 - Spider , Snake & Eee - Only A Boy / When I Have To Say, Be On Your Way 6602 - Al Williams - I Am Nothing / Brand New Love (Also released on Palmer 5011) 6604 - James Shorter - Ready For The Heartbreak / Modern Day Woman 6605 - The Masqueraders - A Family Part I / A Family Part 2 6066 - The Masqueraders - I'm Gonna Make It / How 6607 - Lester Tipton - This Won't Change / Go On 6608 - Nelson Sanders- This Love Is Here To Stay / Tired Of Being Your Fool 6609 - Don Hart & James Shorter - I Shed A Tear / All The Love I Got 6701 - The Masqueraders - Be Happy For Me / (Instrumental) 6701 - The Masqueraders / The L. P. T.'s - Be Happy For Me / (Instrumental) 6701 - The L.P.T's / The L. P. T. Orchestra - Together That's The Only Way (Vocal) / Together That's The Only Way (Instrumental) 6702 - The Masqueraders - (Work) Together, That's The Only Way / One More Chance . 6704/5 - The Masqueraders - I Got The Power / (Work) Together, That's The Only Way
  23. Fantastic record. Both sides. I had no idea it was rare the first time I heard it in 2000, but instantly loved it. It took me 10 years to find a copy. I missed out on the copy that Haim Kenig sold on eBay in October 2006. Pomonkey in this thread outbid me on it. As far as I know, six copies are documented. First off, the three copies in NYC that have been there for years (Matt, Honky, Pomonkey). As someone hinted at earlier, the most recent one on eBay (February 2012) went to a NYC collector that already had a copy. He might still have two copies unless he's sold/traded one of them. So that's four copies in NYC. I've got one copy in my collection that I bought on eBay in April 2010 from a US seller after asking the seller to end the auction early. Another copy amazingly turned up on eBay in April 2010 from a swedish seller (not me!). The 45 was found in Sweden in an ex-publicists record collection, it appeared briefly on eBay, but was withdrawn within 24 hours and that 45 was sent to Manship for auction instead. This is the copy which now resides with Soul Sam. Any more copies to add?
  24. Yes, by about five years. But they are totally different recordings ofcourse.
