  1. No, not as far as I know and I've never seen it mentioned in any discographies. Great track. The fabulous dancer "Waiting On You" from the same album is sadly also LP-only. What the hell were they thinking not releasing such smashing tunes as singles!?
  2. It was released on a 45 on the Etiquette label back in 1965. It's the flipside to "Shot Down" which is the side I personally would be buying it for. Not that "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark" is a bad tune, it's just that "Shot Down" is one of the meanest, most distorted and blasting 60s tunes ever recorded.
  3. Here you go:
  4. Think that was Ronnie McCain on Triode... wasn't it?

  7. So it IS the same guy? Sounds like it to me. Yes I really like that one as well. But then again I'm a sucker for tunes with an obvious New Orleans soul influence. Have a listen:

  9. Yes. And there's a (IMO far superior) 60s version by them on one of their Smash 45s.
  10. I've only seen it in a Revue discography. Don't own the 45 and I haven't heard it.
  11. Is it the same recording that was issued on King. 1973 - KING 6412 - Sylvester Boyd - I Don't Want Nobody / I Can't Go On Livin'
  12. Same here. And Marvin & Tammi "Ain't No Mountain..." ofcourse.
  13. Ah! That would explain the low price then.
  14. Yes, I think it does. It's from 1965.
  15. If there's anything above (not marked SOLD!) that you're interested in but don't agree with my pricing... make me an offer off-forum (fonzeus@telia.com) and I'll think about it. Have also got a copy of the following LP: Monitors - Greetings!... We're The Monitors - SOUL - EX+ - £45 SOLD! (great LP, stunning copy, looks and plays great, upper left corner of cover cut) And this 45: Maxine Brown - It's Torture / I Got Love - KENT UK - EX+ - £10 SOLD! (two unissued dancers, not easy to pick up these days) Prices includes shipping. PayPal payments only, please.
  16. Both were released in 1962. And the original label is Home Of The Blues.
  17. Yes there is. My Tempests LP is a US mono copy. Unfortunately a lot harder to find than the stereo copies though.
  18. Here's an RA of the Ray Sharpe version of "Help Me":
  19. It was the "too early to be taken seriously" comment that I found amusing, considering how far back in time I search for good music. Nevermind, it was nothing serious.
  20. Each to their own etc. I think the the Commands version sounds ridiculous when compared to The O'Jays.
  21. Great tune. It's about £15 now. Rumoured to be the same group as Charades on MGM/Okeh etc.
  22. I rate it as well. Great track. I've heard that there is a Ronnie Milsap compilation CD in the making with stuff from his (pre-country) Scepter and Warner years. The Dan Penn produced stuff etc. Should be a keeper.
  23. "No Time For You" is indeed the better side. But why anyone plays the Commands instead of the vastly superior original O'Jays version on Imperial is beyond me.
