  1. Or buy your copy on eBay for $150-$200. Still "too much", but usually cheaper than off UK lists.
  2. Here you go:
  3. These are ending 19 hours from now. Thanks for looking.
  4. Check out the original hit version by The Showmen instead.
  5. Unissued Goldwax recording. Originally available on a japanese CD. Available on a Soul Series UK 45 and also on some other UK issue... Torch Records or something... don't know which came first - Soul Series or Torch - not that it really matters, I guess. Master tape only find as far as I know, no orignal acetate? Fantastic stomper. Thanks for reminding me, had to go dig it out, had completely forgotten about it.
  6. Billy, check your mail.
  7. I love deep soul but find it extremely difficult to just throw up a list of 5 tunes. There is just sooooo much. Here's one that always knocks me out though. "Easy As Saying 1-2-3" by Timmy Willis on Jubilee. And when it comes to Timmy's... how about "Thunder In My Heart" by Timmy Shaw on BON? Damn!
  8. He probably does.
  9. You can use this link to find out for yourself: https://www.raresoulforum.co.uk/jm_auction.php Enter a number in the "box". The latest, now going auction is number 1327. Jimmy Fraser is 1299 etc. Hours of "fun"!

Less than that I reckon. Craig Moerer had a copy for ages for $45. It sold recently though. Good funky tune. I really rate his "Puttin' It On Your Mind" on SALEM as well. By the way, has anyone compiled a Jimmy Ellis discography? Loads of releases on a multitude of labels. There's even a gospel LP by him on Atlantic.
  15. Thanks for the list. I wouldn't mind hearing that on the radio... Chris Kenner "Fumigate Funky Broadway"!!! Bloody hell. That's one angry tune. Christian, have you heard the Little Milton version of "Believe In Me Baby"? Indeed a fab tune.

  17. Why is a brand new record being sold for £25? Even when doing a low press run of 250 the price per 45 is not more than £2.50 at the very highest. £5 would be a good price, and then there's some 100% profit as well.
  18. I suspect that most venues use Technics 1200s or a lookalike of some kind. They all use the same kind of stylus set-ups. The reason JW got noise through the entire record was becasue the stylus was in poor condition, the weight was set too high and the anti-skating wasn't set-up properly. The people in charge of setting up the turntable didn't do his/hers job. It's VERY easy to learn how to do this. When it comes to this, ignorance is the main problem in my opinion.
  19. Problem solvers: Buy 2 "healthy" styluses to use when you DJ. Learn how to properly set up a turntable. Don't cue styrene records.
  20. That's quite cheap! Stomp stomp stomp stomp stomp!!!!!!!
  21. Managed to sell a couple of the items I had up for sale so I've revised the list, lowered the price on some of the remaining stuff plus added a couple of new 45s. I was also asked via e-mail to supply sound files of both sides of the Cheers record so I thought I might as well could make those files available to you all (taken directly from the copy I have up for sale). Anyway, here is the revised list: ***NEW ADDITIONS*** Gary Brown - Spoiled Child - BROWNIE - M- - £60 https://soulgirl.kicks-ass.org/andromeda1.p...iled+Child%2Erm Eddie & Ernie - I Can't Do It - EASTERN - EX - £25 SOLD! 22. Yes, originally released on an Atlantic 45. DO NOT PAY £150 FOR THIS 45. Original US copies are currently selling for about $110 (£55-ish) on eBay. In fact, three copies has sold during the past week: $100: https://cgi.ebay.com/SAM-DEES-FRAGILE-HANDL...1QQcmdZViewItem $106: https://cgi.ebay.com/SAM-DEES-MINT-SOUL-DAN...1QQcmdZViewItem $113.50: https://cgi.ebay.com/SAM-DEES-Fragile-Handl...1QQcmdZViewItem
  23. I like "You Got To Feel It". Nice piece of punchy southern soul. Annoying backing vocals though. Has been a cheapie for as long as I've been collecting and copies are always available from the US at $5-$15.
