  1. It's one of the harder Sam & Bill 45s, but still not more than £20-£30-ish. Can be found cheaper if you look around.
  2. It is by Lewis Bethune and called "Chi-Town Boogaloo", released on Sack and it's stated to be "a Tru-Glo-Town production" on the label. Seems to be quite damn rare as it very seldom crops up for sale. Details: Lewis Bethune - Chi-Town Boogaloo / I Want You So Bad - SACK 4363 B-side is written by Dee Irwin.
  3. The Soulfulkindamusic discography seems to confuse people. All label variations are originals, pressed the same year, at the same pressing plant. All have 501 as its catalogue number (as far as I'm aware). The numbers 1001 and 1002 are the matrix numbers for each of the songs. Check out the scans below. I'd guess that the white ones are demos and the multicoloured ones are issues. Please send in scans if you have a label that doesn't state 501 as its catalogue number.

"Worried Over You"... what a blinding tune!
  5. Sam Cooke's "Live At The Harlem Square Club" was just re-released in a blasting remastered edition after having been out of print for about 10 years or so. It's everything the slick studio recordings by Sam isn't - raw, screaming, pulsating, sweaty, gospel fueled partytime soul with the King Curtis Orchestra as the backing band played in front of an adult audience in a chitlin circuit club down in Miami, Florida. Seriously, for me this is one of the greatest albums of all-time, and that's certainly nothing I say often about soul/r&b albums. If you haven't heard it, I strongly advise you to check it out.

  7. £528.
  8. Fantastic tune in my opinion (and decently priced). https://www.soulclub.org/stream/The_Incredi...s_Treatment.ram
  9. I agree. How much does it go for these days? Seldom comes up for sale.
  10. Flip it over for "I Hurt Myself". Another nice and gritty track in my opinion. By the way, anyone got a spare copy of "Our Thing Is Through" by him (also on Shama) for sale?
  11. I sold a M- copy of this on eBay a couple of months ago with sound clips of both sides, properly listed and all. It ended at $36. Not worth more than £20-£25 tops.
  12. No, it's only the LP that is in-demand and usually fetches $50-$150 on eBay depending on condition. It's a legendary album among US psych collectors.
  13. Nice The Troll avatar you've got there. Their Smash LP is quite pricey these days. Fine US psych stuff.
  14. Indeed. And cheap, get your copy here: https://www.daptonerecords.com/pages/dap1022.html Their original stuff is much better though. And be sure to check them out live if they visit your town. They're absolutely amazing and deliver one damn fine kick-ass show!
  15. Shirley & Jessie were a New Orleans duo consisting of the equally legendary Jessie Hill and Shirley Goodman. Jessie Hill had some major hits during the early 60s on Minit like "Ooh Poo Pah Doo" and "Whip It On Me". Shirley was one half of the hugely successful duo Shirley & Lee and later had a big hit in the mid-70s with "Shame Shame Shame" on All Platinum as Shirley & Co. I prefer the Barbara Lynn version of "Oh Baby" but I absolutely LOVE "You Can't Fight Love", their other 45 on Wand.
  16. Should be £5 tops (but it probably costs more) because the Itzy issue is a bootleg made in the 60s and NOT the "original, local label" as stated in most dealer lists. Itzy was notorious for re-releasing current hits for their local market without having the proper rights to do so. An original Swan copy of Mickey Lee Lane would set you back £15-£20 or so.
  17. Or buy your copy on eBay for $150-$200. Still "too much", but usually cheaper than off UK lists.
  18. Here you go:
  19. These are ending 19 hours from now. Thanks for looking.
  20. Check out the original hit version by The Showmen instead.
  21. Unissued Goldwax recording. Originally available on a japanese CD. Available on a Soul Series UK 45 and also on some other UK issue... Torch Records or something... don't know which came first - Soul Series or Torch - not that it really matters, I guess. Master tape only find as far as I know, no orignal acetate? Fantastic stomper. Thanks for reminding me, had to go dig it out, had completely forgotten about it.
  22. Billy, check your mail.
  23. I love deep soul but find it extremely difficult to just throw up a list of 5 tunes. There is just sooooo much. Here's one that always knocks me out though. "Easy As Saying 1-2-3" by Timmy Willis on Jubilee. And when it comes to Timmy's... how about "Thunder In My Heart" by Timmy Shaw on BON? Damn!
  24. He probably does.
