It is never fair to pay a lot of money for a reissue (legal or not). A reissue is apart from its musical merits practically worthless for someone who collects original records. Why not just have the tunes on a CD and be satisfied with that?

Wow. That's about $50. Why anyone with access to the internet/google/eBay would pay over $15-$20 for a M- US copy of that 45 is beyond me.

Just came to think about a 7" which seems to be very hard to find. Solid Solution's "Think about It Girl" on Silver Spoon. How about it?

Probably just different pressing plants for the red label ones. The brown/gold-ish one has however got a different catalogue number (210) and features an ever so slightly different version of "Don't You Want A Man Like Me" (no synthesizer "strings" during the intro, different vocal take etc.). Plus it has got "Back Up Train" on the flipside, not "Hollywood".

"Invisible Wind" is the same track as recorded (in my opinion far superior and grittier) by Arnie Love & The Loveletts on one of their early 80s 12"s on TAP. Still wouldn't mind a copy of the female version. "Guilty" sounds great as well!

I'm really intrigued by the Flaming Arrow label at the moment so wouldn't mind a complete set of those... Could throw in the complete Crow catalogue as well... Or failing that, why not Charay, another label with a seriously messed up discography that issued loads of good stuff in a variety of genres.

Yes, I'm afraid you probably did. Manship was in my opinion way off mark when suggesting a price of £150 for this 45 in that other thread some days ago. It hardly ever turns up for sale. But oh well, £150 is still good money!

I'm with you on that one. They are extremely similar. It wouldn't suprise me if Hall, Oates and those other guys bought every record they could find on labels like M-Pac/One-Derful/Mar-V-Lus and wore them out. Those were pretty big labels back then considering the success of The Five Du-Tones etc. Love most of Hall & Oates pre-1983 stuff. The "Abandoned Luncheonette" LP and the self-titled "silver album" are superb.
