  1. Does It Feel Good - bt express - columbia 14527 refosoul
  2. Thought a bit about this when I was playing some tunes the other day here. I'll upload 5 tunes below which all are suprisingly hard to locate on original US issues (in the cases of Rose, Odyssey and Jackie there are however european copies all over the place). I'm not saying that they are RARE, just that I don't see them up for grabs often, I guess 12" was the order of the day or these tunes just didn't sell much. I really like them though. Was turned onto the Rose Royce track by Tony Turner a while ago and the Jackie Moore one was discussed on here quite recently.
  3. That photo of Ian with Michael and Tito Jackson is quite something!
  4. Here: https://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...endID=156392456 Think you need to be logged into MySpace to be able to see them though.
  5. I'm Trying To Be Your Friend - soul stirrers - jewel 14513 refosoul
  6. If By Chance - neal brown - chart sound 14512 refosoul
  7. Think I actually bought it from you (or that might have been Danny Hunt on Dynamite which I also got very early on) and I remember you trashing it on the list which I bought it from as well as telling me what you thought about it when I placed the order.
  8. Something Within Me - eddie lang - seven b 14509 refosoul This is another great and obscure New Orleans dancer. Produced by Eddie Bo if I remember correctly.
  9. In My Corner - ray algere - tou-sea 14508 refosoul £20 is a very decent price for this 45. Superb uptempo New Orleans dancer!
  10. I Can Understand It - valentinos - clean 14507 refosoul
  11. This is absolutely superb!
  12. That Louie Ramirez 45 is nice.
  13. Had listened quite a lot to "classic soul" and bought some random Stax/Atlantic/Motown 45s and LPs and taken over a bunch of LPs from my parents... but the very first real "northern" 45 that I actively searched out and bought via mail order from the US was The Parliaments "Don't Be Sore At Me" on REVILOT, the second one was Larry Houston "Let's Spend Some Time Together" on HFMP, then when I discovered some more UK and US lists it quickly went "downhill" and within a couple of months I had bought stuff like Accents "New Girl" on M-PAC, Eddie Giles "Losin' Boy" on MURCO, Frank Dell "Baby You've Got It" on VALISE, The Expressions "You Better Know It" on FEDERAL, Phil Flowers "Where Did I Go Wrong" on DOT, Andre Williams "You Got It And I Want It" on RIC-TIC. Plus loads and loads of cheap 45s directly from the US, I bought all sorts of stuff "blind" because the records were so cheap.
  14. Released as Arctic 154 with "Happy Girl" on the flipside. One of the last 5 or so Arctic 45s to get released. Is a bit hard to find and has sold for quite a lot in recent years. Good tune!
  15. Reaching For The World - harold melvin & the bluenotes - abc 14451 refosoul
  16. That Harold Melvin is superb!
  17. The Picture - gwenn douglass - plus a bit of the flipside 14450 refosoul Are there really WORSE records than this being played on the scene in the UK? Above is a soundclip which features about 80 seconds of each side of the 45.
  18. I happened to find a stack of this 45 and have sold 7 copies on eBay but I'm all out of them now. I still have the original Bell Sound acetate (which is up for grabs if anyone needs it, it's in bad condition though). Here are the seven auction results: 2004-12-06: $181 (EX) 2005-02-10: $210 (VG+) 2005-04-20: $715 (VG-) 2005-06-01: $305 (EX) 2005-07-27: $96 (VG) 2005-11-08: $31 (VG-) 2006-06-06: $51 (G+) Got a bunch of other 45s on Michelle in that same "find" but I seem to remember that they all were crap or at least in such a bad condition that I didn't really listen to them. I'll try to find them here somewhere.
  19. About 6-7 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking!
  20. They look absolutely awful with that font for the artist/title as well...
  21. Very weird indeed, and that's from the copy I have up for grabs on eBay at the moment: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=230087118308
  22. A copy of Jewel Bass sold on eBay about a week ago for $23, so hasn't moved much in value over the past couple of years, £10-£15 should still get you one.
