  1. Me too! Don't cover up records.
  2. Love Never Looked Better - trilark - handshake 15762 refosoul Here's a soundclip if anyone wants to hear it.
  3. Probably about 6 years ago there was a discussion about it on the Essential Modern Soul mailing list and many said that it was LP/12"-only. Can't say that I've been chasing it, but was happy when I found it. Cost me $8. Do you have the issue copy with "Sweat It Out" on the flip?
  4. It's "Find Myself Another Girl" by The Sonics on the Valmon label.
  5. 6:20 is bad enough... Nah, it's all good, just splitting hairs here. I wouldn't exactly COMPLAIN if I heard the 12" version somewhere, it's just that I prefer the shorter mix. Plus it's cheaper!
  6. Here we go again. I don't like the long version. It's a stereo/stereo demo copy with the same tune on the flip.
  7. What's all this £100-£165 talk about the Steve Karmen 45?
  8. Double Exposure's "After All This Time" isn't good enough to last 12+ minutes. Some tunes are, but this one isn't. In my opinion it's perfect at 3:58 length as it has got the key features of the tune and comes off as the good pop song that it is. We obviously differ in opinion and I'm sure we can argue about this at length. Just my opinion.
  9. ...look what I got in the mail today! Well chuffed!
  10. I absolutely LOVE that tune!!! AOR it might be, but also very Hall & Oates-ish.
  11. Yeah, both sides on that Gold Coast release are great. The 7" mixes that is, too much filling on the 12" cuts. Surprisingly hard-to-find 7" by the way. Don't know anything about the Starpoint connection I'm afraid.
  12. This was the first version of "The Sidewinder" I heard actually. Still think it's superb!
  13. Yes, released twice with different catalogue numbers, flipsides and label designs. Leonard Lee - Miss Lulu's Wig / Bartender - TRUMPET 102 Leonard Lee - Miss Lulu's Wig / Woman Rules the World - TRUMPET 103
  14. It's not as good as his "Let Home Cross Your Mind" 45 on the same label, but still a good 45. I prefer "Funky Virginia" over "My Sweet Baby". Value wise about £15-£25.
  15. Bay Brothers - Baby, Don't Give Up / Magic In Her Love - MILLENIUM 11794 Bay Brothers - What Does It Take / One & Only - MILLENIUM 11810 Bay Brothers - Love Never Comes Easy / Magic In Her Love - MILLENIUM 13103
  16. These auctions ends in about 4-5 hours. Thanks for looking!
  17. Everyman - double exposure - salsoul 15683 refosoul Let's not forget this fine Double Exposure track.
  18. Dancing Into The Stars - logg - salsoul 15682 refosoul I'm a sucker for Leroy Burgess-related stuff and this is one of my fave tunes!
  19. Totally agree!!! In fact, the entire Logg LP (reissued on CD in the mid-90s) is good from beginning to end and it is one of my all-time favorite albums.
  20. It's LP-only and there are 3 buy-it-now copies of the LP on eBay at the moment ranging from $9.45 to $24: https://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?s...op=1%26fsoo%3D1 Or it's £30 from Manship.
  21. Miss Lulu's Wig - leonard lee - trumpet 15655 refosoul Great (and rare!) New Orleans tune.
  22. Don't Have To Worry - jean austin - song bird 15616 refosoul Just dug this out... WHAT A TUNE! And can that be Barbara Mason in the writing credits?
  23. Build It Up - greene sisters - mankind lp 15613 refosoul I think this is superb. Pity it's so short. Think I'll try to do a re-edit one of these days.
  24. Haven't heard this for years, but it used to be a big fave of mine. The Catalinas - You Haven't The Right - SCEPTER https://www.soulclub.org/stream/The_Catalin...t_The_Right.ram (sorry, don't have an MP3 at hand)
  25. Let Him In - nichol venee eskridge - 15605 refosoul I went apeshit about this tune a couple of years ago. CD-only as far as I know.
