  1. Stock sopies of Brown Sugar regularly sells for £40-£50 on eBay.
  2. Not a rare 45, but always desirable, so goes for £15-£25 on eBay.
  3. Sure, seriously sub-par vocals, but there's extreme energy in both "Latin Freak" and "At The Disco". I personally wouldn't mind one copy of each release (with the different flipsides).
  4. My copy of Christian Plicque on eBay sold for $159.11.
  5. Thanks for the clarification! The orange/black copy is usually passed of as a first press when I see it for sale.
  6. So... is this the first press: or is this at all the tune we're talking about? I'm sure I've seen a label design which is orange/black/yellow as well. Is that the reissue?
  7. There are at least 5 different 45s by Angela Davis on Flaming Arrow. Manship is currently auctioning one of them: "My Love (Is So Strong)".
  8. Thanks for the additions! It's the same version of "Patsy" which is included on all 45s, it's an instrumental and Major Bill Smith seems to have included it on 45s when he didn't want to "waste" studio time/money for a second tune. The track entitled "Cool" which has shown up on loads of Major Bill Smith-connected 45s is the same recording as "Patsy" and it wouldn't surprise me if "Alpine Winter" also is the exact same... Do you know of 10 releases of Charay 60!?
  9. I agree, it's great! Both sides actually, nice rocking instrumental on the b-side. I also have it on Revue, but original issue was on Charay. I used to collect the Charay label but gave it up as it was too damn confusing. It's "bad" enough to only collect Pic & Bill 45s...
  10. Here's one from David Flynn's Anorak Corner web-site which I originally helped put together for the RareSoulForum (it's not complete and has got a bunch of errors in it, but it's better than nothing I guess... check out the multiple releases for certain cat# like 60,20,28,33,44 etc. I think I have some additions here somewhere as well): CHARAY 13 J. 11. The Fiery Spartans probably were Pic & Bill's backing band and that's why on the right on the Fiery Spartans label you can read "Vocal By: PIC & BILL". There is no need to put up a soundclip because the Fiery Spartans release is identical in every way to the Pic & Bill release(s). The Fiery Spartans 45 and the Pic & Bill 45s have been pressed using the same stamper and has got identical matrix markings.
  12. Don't know about the UK issue, but it was originally issued in the US on United Artists 594.
  13. The french Soul Record release has got decent sound quality, but the one on spanish Belter sounds very muffled. Here is the Fiery Spartans release, it is indeed insanely rare:
  14. It's a bit strange to see the rather common euro releases of this tune selling for £100-£200 and then both of the mega rare Pic & Bill issues of "Talk About Love" on Charay (issued with two different flipside) sell for only £200-£300. Based on quality and rarity it should be £750 at least. I don't know how much it is in the Tim Brown and Manship guides, can anyone please check? The first release of "Talk About Love" (the exact same recording, but about 20 catalogue numbers prior to the Pic & Bill issues) is credited to Fiery Spartans (Vocal by: PIC & BILL) and I've only ever seen one copy of that one and it's the one I've got. Not interested in selling it, but would ask for a LOT of money if I ever did. If anyone has got their "What Does It Take" 45 on Charay for sale, please PM me.
  15. SR 1 is worth about £10. SR 7 is expensive (even though £200 is optimistic) because it has got "Talk About Love" on it, which is EXTREMELY rare on its original US Charay release (releases really, as it was issued three times, but is still almost impossible to track down).
  16. There's a Classic Example LP as well on GSF. I've sold my copy so can't check for any members, but here are some pictures of the album:
  17. It's the original issue copies of: Major Lance - Too Hot To Hold / Dark And Lonely - OKEH 7226 which has got the small 45 RPM logo. White demos has got the big logo though.
  18. Yes, that's right. Those with "painted labels" (Amy/Mala/Bell type 45s) are styrene though. I don't know for sure when it comes to this particular 45. But I've had other Okeh 45s like Major Lance "Without A Doubt" pressed on vinyl and with a scratched in matrix number instead of stamped. But really, we should get Manship on this thread, he might know.
  19. That's the big 45 logo. Looks alright to me, apart from the fact that I've never seen it on vinyl prior to this. Wouldn't mind a vinyl copy instead of my styrene one actually. Pounding tune that one!
  20. Yes. Pressed up a year or so ago. Value should be about £2-£3.
  21. Two latest copies on eBay: May 30 - NM- cover/NM vinyl - $87 May 26 - VG cover/VG vinyl - $178
  22. Yes, most of the time a cheapie to pick up when you find it. For example, a copy sold for £6.99 about a week ago on eBay and it only recieved one bid.
  23. Kent released a truly superb CD in 2005 which celebrated the early 6T's and 100 Club events, check it out: https://www.acerecords.co.uk/content.php?pa...mp;release=4494 It's called "6Ts: In The Beginning" and I hope there will be further volumes.
  24. Ah OK, must've missed that. Can't see what one would have against destroying the reissue copies of this 45...
  25. Aren't the pink label copies second issues anyway... pressed up by Red Coach, quite some time after the white demo copies, due to northern demand? I'm sure I've read that years ago. Someone put me straight if I'm wrong.
