  1. No, sadly not. Superb tune!

  3. As far as US stuff goes, there's: Chuck Edwards - Downtown Soulville / I Need You - PUNCH 11001 A couple of different label designs for that release:

  5. I've also got a copy of this: Frank Beverly - If Thats What You wanted - Inferno(clear wax) - M- £20 SOLD SOLD SOLD If anyone needs it, let me know via PM.
  6. Yes I did, but it was very scratchy and had lots of clicks. I still have one copy. It was a bit strange because it took me YEARS to find a 1932 copy and then all of a sudden about a year or so back there were 4-5 copies on eBay (all in quite poor condition) from different sellers in the space of 2 months. There hasn't been any more since then, I've looked. In my experience the 1932 issue is very rare. Despite what some people claim, I think the 1879 issue was the first issue. And it was later remixed and aimed at a slightly different market and bombing even worse than the first time around.
  7. Then there's the (in my opinion far superior) Rare Pleasure version on both Cheri 7" and 12". I'm fairly sure that it was the Rare Pleasure version which was sampled for the house version a couple of years back.
  8. Was "Where You Gonna Find Somebody Like Me" by The Imperials ever issued on a US 7" or is it only available on the UK Power Exchange 7"? I just dug it out here after not having heard it for years. I had completely forgotten what an absolutely superb tune it is!

  10. What are the words in the choruses on each side?
  11. Only about 4 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking! :-)

    Wanted

There's a "Here's The Man" 7" jukebox EP with 6 tracks which includes "36-22-36" as well.
  13. Jim Ford's original demo recording of this tune is apparently going to be released on the forthcoming second Jim Ford anthology CD from Bear Family. It should be out in February or so. LOADS of versions of this track out there by the way.
  14. You're right, that probably would bring the price down, I sure wouldn't be throwing lots of money at it if it was pressed on styrene.
  15. Have you got a label scan?
  16. If a 7" of this would turn up the price would go much higher than that in my opinion. £150 for the 12" is very reasonable. An absolute monster tune!
  17. I used to have a mint US issue copy which sounded superb. I just listened to the soundclip I made from it and it sounds pretty much crystal clear without any hiss. So I guess there are good US copies out there although most have bad sound quality in my experience.
  18. I've got two records by Evans Pyramid. One 7": Evans Pyramid Introducing: Latrice - No I Won't / Soul Petrol - SMOKAH One 12": Evans Pyramid - Never Gonna Leave You / The Dip Drop - FUNK Both of them produced by Andre Evans. Has anybody got any additional info? Any other releases etc.?

  21. Superb tune. There are by the way two issues of this 45 on Wee with different catalogue numbers (106 and 714). The local WEE 106 release (with an Oakland, California address) is seriously hard to find.
  22. Same Cliff Chambers who had a nice, but very oddball, record on Kent?
  23. It wouldn't surprise me if this Benelux release was the result of a deal struck between Elijah Cole and EMI at the yearly MIDEM festival. That is, if Cole ever attended any of the MIDEM festivals ofcourse... That's the thing which happened with for example that obscure Swamp Dogg produced Maurice McCormick 45 on Atomic Art. It's hard to find on its original US label, but was issued on both german and swedish major labels due to a leasing deal done at one of the MIDEM festivals in Cannes.

  25. SUPERB gritty take on the Jefferson Airplane tune! Usually about £40-£50 on UK lists, but almost always sells cheaper on eBay. In fact there was a M- copy which ended yesterday without any bids and the opening bid was only $39.99 (£20-ish)...
