Spent a day there last year trolling around second-hand shops in search of vinyl, but to no avail. If anyone can recommend any shops worth a visit, or even a good night out for some soul sounds, I would welcome any info. Cheers Dave

  18. Hi Adrian I travel to Korea and Japan with work too, and while I've never found anything in Seoul, I have found a good bar or two in Tokyo that play great soul music. My favourite bar is Zapp, in Ikebukuro (Tokyo). It's only a few minutes walk from the station. It's a small basement bar, and they do a good pizza too! Music is all LP's, mostly from the 70's & 80's, but they have loads of stuff that they probably don't even know is there. Must be 2,000 LP's in there. Just ask for something, and there's a good chance they will find it! I've had some great nights in there over weekends, and they really enjoy having western visitors who appreciate the music too. I hope to be there again at the end of this month. Cheers Dave
  19. Sad news indeed. Couldn't get down so often because of work, travelling and other family comittments on Saturdays, but always enjoyed the music, the company and the odd dance or two there. Will surely see you all at other venues in the area soon. Thanks for the memories, as they say ! Dave
  20. Here is another example, and the notes under the clip suggest a real attempt to emulate a Motown sound! Dave https://youtu.be/Vie8XxjpmMU
  21. Sticking with the Mary Wells theme - "Dear Lover" & "Fancy Free" are close.

  25. Surely one of the best tunes from a film soudtrack. Great listening at any time. https://youtu.be/fJKlIfuvyCs Dave
