  1. Enchanted Five used to get plenty of spins at the Orwell several years ago. Didn't realize that it wasn't well known or widely played Dave
  2. Not sure about that John. A wee bit too technical for me!! It's a decent quality record and nicely printed, etc. Would just like to know where it's come from etc. No address or indication of country of origin.
  3. On a recent visit to tokyo, I was given a copy of David Ruffin "I want you back" on a Soul Gems (vol 2) 45. I can't find any info on this label. Can anyone shed any light on who is behind it, where it's made, etc? It's marked up as a "DJ only" label. Is it classed as a "carver" or just a plain boot? Any info welcome Cheers Dave
  4. That's more than double any other sales that show up on Popsike and treble most of them! Great tune, but....
  5. Great record. Downloaded it myself from ITunes recently and have been searching (obviously in vain) for a 45! Hope that someone has success in getting it out there so we can all enjoy hearing it played out. Dave
  6. For some reason I always thought this was an LP only track as it had no US 7" release. Was pleased to find it on a UK 45 last week, especially for a fiver! Aretha Franklin - Dont let me lose this dream Dave
  7. Has been near the top of may wants list for a good while too ! One day...
  8. New in my box this morning. Morris Jefferson " It's the last time around for me" Cheap & soulful just like we like 'em! Dave
  9. Fantastic soulful, B-side of a recently acquired Fee 45 from Bill Merriweather (That's love) from me today. "No stronger love" Dave
  10. Listening to Johnny Taylor's "In a midnight mood" on CD. Were any of the versions on this fantastic track ( Johnny, Ollie Nightingale, Denise LaSalle, etc) released in any vinyl format ? Would be interested to know. Cheers Dave
  11. Great cheapie oldie with a real feel-good factor.. Otis Leavill - "When the music grooves" on Blue Rock ( with a fabulous b-side too ) Dave
  12. This is my kind of listening for a lunchtime.... Dynamic Superiors - "You're what I need" on Motown ... or any time for that matter ! Dave
  13. Morning all from a cold but sunny Cheshire! Just picked up a copy Silk - "Falling in love isn't easy" on Nation Records. (also on Decca) mine for today Dave
  14. Love the Red Bar too. Last time I went it took me over 3 hours to get there from Macclesfield in the snow! Fantastic nights there though.
  15. Mine for today is Linda Clifford's first 45 (I believe) - March accross the land on Parramount. Picked it up in Japan for a few quid about 3 years ago. Nice ! Dave
  16. Played Brad Lundy at the White Barn last night, and yes, shame about the Julmar quality. great record though.
