  1. Got this awesome 70's crossover 45 up for grabs. On the yellow release THE TAMS - THIS PRECIOUS MOMENT SOUNDS SOUTH EX+ £60 PM me or txt 07968174086 to reserve. Most payment methods taken, postage £2.50 recorded, £3 to EU (standard) or £4 to rest of world Cheers Azza
  2. Opinions are like ar*eholes. We've all got one. That aint changing any time soon, neither is the OVO versus bootleg debate. Some promoters allow bootlegs to be played, some people advocate bootlegs being played, some people talk up DJ's who play majority bootlegs, some will campaing vehemently for OVO.........That's just their opinion, just like it was Matt's opinion that bootlegs shouldn't be played at something being promoted as the best weekender in the world. You might say he's talking out of his ar*ehole, but it's just his opinion. I happen to agree with him, but then that's just my opinion too, spoken through the media of typing via my fingers, not my ar*ehole. So AndyJ, don't be dismayed when people share their opinions, just accept it for what it is
  3. Mine's in pristine condition But not long since had it after a couple of years tracking one down, so sadly not for sale
  4. Dawn & sunset is a tough one. Adam Topping sold one for more than that a few months ago, bargain i'd say
  5. Awesome stuff Brian, and i like how discreet you are when going about your work at people's events. If only you could've made it down to Driving Beat last time, it was packed! BUT, you're welcome anytime as i think you're project is going to deliver something great. Fully echo the comments so far (well the good ones anyway) Azza
  6. Leave the pitch alone naughty boy!! Having heard you play this copy out I'll vouch for its sound quality. Definitely a play copy
  7. How legit is the issue put out by Steve Jeffries? Full rights purchased etc? And thanks sebastian for putting my mind at rest that I sold the boot (listed as a boot) and not the original!! Which goes for about £600??
  8. So what's teh difference between a boot and real one? And what does the UK issue look like (assuming it's a look a like and not a stardust thing ow owt)?
  9. Cos £1k buys me a lot more better records Kev! But yeah, glad i got rid.........Think it came in a pack of tunes from the states.
  10. I once owned a copy which i just put down to being a boot so sold it on. It was a mi-val copy, but with labels reversed. I'm sure JM's boot guide has some info on it, and that's why i assumed it to be a boot. Just to add, this was one of the first times i started experiencing bootlegs Vs OV and making sure i only bought OV, when i was 17 (now 29). Never seen an original, wouldn't know if i let a real one go, and to be honest, wouldn't care, cos it's krap.............Although if it was original and worth £1k then i'd be p*ssed off of course!!
  11. Lars is selling a promo of jewel on eBay at the moment Martin.
  12. Genuinely dumbstruck and absolutely gutted by this news last night, and still can't believe it today. A great bloke, much loved by so many. Heartfelt condolences go out to his family and Av. Azza and Michelle X
  13. Hi Tommasso, Try Adam Topping for the Little Kenny. Sure he had one for sale mate Azza
  14. Verve remixed is the edited version, bit more danceable. Put a spell on you lp is original recording, slower but much more atmospheric. Both well worth buying
  15. Edited after seeing auction date, sorry. Never understood paying four times more for a test pressing compared to a first issue. Unissued acetates yes, but why pay more for something that has an official release?
  16. I hunted 'vacate' for about 7 months, then heard dave or Bri play 'love is better' at the H&G. I remember the conversation going something like....... "I've got that, great tune isn't it" "certainly is Azza" "have you heard his other one, Vacate? I'm after that" "that'd be on the other side mate!" "ya kidding????!" Felt like a reet dickhead. Bonus find though and hunt over :-)
  17. That Ray Terrace is a sensation version of the Esquires. I heard it out at RSH warm up recently, loved it!
  18. There's no doubting the endless list of fantastic mid tempo big sounding soul records that can be used to end a night. But i've always wondered about the 'ender' thing and it baffles me sometimes........... why end on such a slow note, especially if the night you've just been to is a pounding up tempo affair? why not leave people wanting more by ending the way you ran things all night? This probably dates back to times of old when i wasnt even born, but to me, the concept of an ender (slow to mid tempo soul traditionally) is outdated. Now, im not saying dont finish on such a record - anyone who knows me is aware i love crossover and mid tempo soul. I'm just saying play it if it feels right, not because its the done thing. If you feel like the night needs 'closing off' then a mid tempo tune changes the atmosphere, makes folk feel ready for going home but leaving hearing a tune of passion and feeling. If you feel like the night has been electric and kind of in yer face, then dont switch the vibe right at the end. Send people home wanting more and still buzzing Just my two penneth. And for what it's worth, all posts so far are amazing records. I'd throw this into the mix for a traditional 'ender' Pearl Jones - A dream
  19. Some that i've spun down at Driving Beat from time to time, although i have to bow significantly to Rich Buckley's Latin Soul collection, it's immense and boy can he weave it into a soul set! Joe Bataan - Gypsy woman Joe Bataan - Too much lovin (this builds into a great soul dancer) Ray Jay & The Eastsiders - Searching for love Ricardo Ray - Nitty gritty (without doubt the epitome of 'latin northern', and cheap as chips) Ray Rodriguez - Delusion (always played this off the LP, which is quite hard to source, but i'm after the oh so ellusive 7" if anyone has one?? Contrary to popular belief it IS on a 45!!) Hector Rivera - Do it to me Tony Middleton - Spanish maiden (mentioned already, but what a tune!!) Azza
  20. Just the one today, great tune at a cheap price. BOBBY WOMMACK - FIND ME SOMEBODY ATLANTIC DEMO, VG+ £30 There are some marks/scuffs on vinyl but plays great. If you don't know the tune, have a listen to this great northern dancer (clip for reference, not actual record)........... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOisSglzJ28 Postage is £1.30 1st class standard, £2.50 1st class recorded, £3 to EU standard. Anywhere else please ask. Paypal (gift if poss), bank transfer, cash, cheque, postal order all accepted. Cheers Azza
