  1. When NFC technology takes off (been trying in the UK for a couple of years now, but it's definitely close) then PayPal are gonna lose a big chunk of revenue on these private deals anyway I suspect. Obviously there's the huge issue of security with mobile payments but it will mobile to mobile payments, straight into your bank, at the cost of a few pence will be big business. PayPal will still have the eBay monopoly, but these typical 'gift' style payments will elude them. I don't mind that they're clamping down on it. It just grates me about the fact you have to pay them when selling with eBay......first the eBay fee then PayPal fee, owned by the same peeps. 4% is higher than a retail unit pays for a debit card transaction so I think it's a rip off
  2. In preperation for our 5th anniversary do on 26th October up in Leeds, i went back and looked at a few playlists from some of the fantastic guests we've had on at our event. I've decided to do one per month up until our event in Feb next year, where the mixclouds will become a lookback of the event itself. Sooooooo many great tunes amongst the lists i have, and there plenty missing. Great way to spend a Sunday putting this together!!! Hopefully, something for everyone......... https://www.mixcloud.com/DrivingBeat_Azza/that-driving-beat-looking-back-pt2/ Azza
  3. Chalky's right Steve. Essentially if there's funds in your account and something is paid marked as gift then there is no charge for the sender or recipient. I think this also applies when your account is set up linked to your bank account rather than debit card, but couldnt be 100% on that one. Azza
  4. Bargains galore in this little lot, be quick!! Postage extra, so just ask. PM me to reserve. Soundclips are from actual record for sale, graded on sight and sound, factoring label condition too. Most payments taken, paypal (as gift) preferred. Cheers Azza Here's the goodies.......... 5. Think you mean Ricky Andrews?
  6. Got two releases on same label Scott. The one with two parallel lines across the middle has an inferior sound quality, but does come up more often and is cheaper. Azza
  7. Cookie Jackson gotta be bargain of the day! Great dancer and very tough to find in decent nick. Paid double that for a VG+ copy
  8. Try Marc Forrest. He might sell you some
  9. Investing in a price guide would be a good start. Manship not long since released his new one, and Tim Brown's out soon. It is only a guide though, and the books are created by big dealers so they're not going to necessarily undercut any of their own stock. I usually take 30% off the book price to give me a rough view. Manship also has a bootleg guide which is worth getting your hands on. There are sites on the internet (including 'Look at your box' on here) where by you can ask for prices from like minded folk, just post a list.........Obviously dont post 900 because people will just think you're lazy and probably not help. Theres a rare soul valuations group on facebook for example. Popsike will give you a clue as to ebay valuations of recent auctions (a global audience don't forget and therefor a useful resource). Plus for rarer stuff you can always search on google..........It usually brings soul source sales threads up etc The internet is your friend in this instance, but should be used in conjunction with as much knowledge and input from other people as you can. Answers are gonna be there for you, just put in the hard yards Azza
  10. The orig issue is on eBay at the moment, recommended seller too
  11. The orange/red issue is a very hard one to track down (don't think this has the Hutton and Hutson variation either)
  12. Eight minutes , and Linda jones (previous love) are great buys for the money
  13. Do a search in the 'eBay and sales link' section on here. There's a guy who must have a box full as been listing them just about every week..........unless I'm getting my tunes mixed up of course
  14. Sorry about that. It was fine before i edited it on my iphone to mark some sold items. I'll see what i can do to rectify
  15. Tried to price most of these to go as can't bear the thought of having to go through the ebay listing torture! Soundclips are from actual records for sale. 16. Clips are from actual record for sale. Postage extra, just ask for details. Pm to reserve or txt 07968174086. Cheers Azza INELL YOUNG — NEXT BALL GAME BIG 9, VG++, £195 Another great crossover cut from Inell, check those funk beat drums! Again, not the easiest to source especially in good nik. Incredibly cheap and less than I paid for it!! https://www.divshare.com/download/24455979-581 ACT III — TODAY I WANT TO STAY INSIDE HARLEY, VG++, £65 Stunning 70’s northern sound with a slight funky riff. Old Butch spin. Vinyl looks minty but does have light noise in first few seconds (pressing flaw?). Absolute bargain! https://www.divshare.com/download/24453911-61c K.L HAMILTON — I’M TRYING RIP PRO, EX+, £65 Spotless copy including picture sleeve! Obscure stepper/modern that seems to be a hot item at the moment. Think this is a private label release? Been going for a lot more recently https://www.divshare.com/download/24453918-b1c RICKEY ANDREWS — THE NEXT TIME RWA, EX+, £40 Frenetic northern dancer that’s been getting plenty of action in Europe, spotless copy. https://www.divshare.com/download/24455993-8b5 FEMININE TOUCH — GROOVE ME FEM-TOUCH, VG+, £100 Classy girl group crossover northern dancer. This much rarer private label release, and by far the best take. Fetched lots more than this in the not too distant past. Bit of wol, conservative grading, plays superb. Bargain of the list!! https://www.divshare.com/download/24455983-d26 UJIMA - IM NOT READY EPIC, VG+, £265 Quite a few marks on it but plays very well with surface noise drowned out in most parts. Not managed to upload a sound file yet but do have it recorded so could email it later of required.
  17. Willie Pickett on soul Spot or eastern?
  18. Think they wanted it on the orig Event label though Dave
  19. Nice price that Mr Maxwell, great tune. Always well received at Driving Beat
  20. Class men is a real bargain for someone
  21. The last copy of irma routen I saw for sale (and more importantly sold) was for £350. And that was 3 years ago. That's not to say there hasn't been more, and not knowing if there has been more sales I couldn't say whether they went for more or less. I don't think the copy sold at £750, as it was reduced to 700 recently. This is a hard record to find, whether you I've it or loath it. Rare? Perhaps not, but it doesn't come up for sale often. So maybe one dealer chances it and someone pays that price. Thing is, that's sets a prescident for others to follow. If that copy then sells at said price, and the one after does, is that not then becoming the market value? Like has been said, price a record at whatever you want, doesn't mean it will sell. And until it sells there's no shift in the market for the item. There must be thousands of records from over the years that you could have the same arguement about. I think it's up to the buyer to do their research first. If they want it so bad though, that's when 'inflated' prices are achieved and become the norm
  22. Nothing that a quick google search couldn't achieve. Anyway its called P.O.W
  23. Can't help feeling a sound clip might help your sale at VG-, just a thought. Great record, and one where the stock never turned up, top rare modern sound. Good luck with the sale
  24. Bitter and the sweet has a fantastic and under played B side that's well worth a mention
