  2. James Bynum Time passes by/Love you Philly City IVG+ £250.00

This can't be right can it Dazz? I thought it was only about £50 ish.

    Jordi

I'd agree. I've had three of them - still got my own - and sold the others at £50 (actually one might have gone at £75 :( ) ...did seem a bit steep at £250 - that said it doesn't exactly pop up every day and it's cracking record...and if someone 'important' starts playing it in earnest, who knows...

  3. In amongst my Aunt's Glam Rock 7" singles used to sit an original Mixed Emotions - Gold Of My Life before it was plucked out by a grateful nephew some 6-7 years back. She'd bought it in a 10 singles for a quid pack off Derby market sometime in the early 80's. The rest were rock things, except this, which was Rock-Way. How it got there is a mystery.

Always wondered what this would be like as a venue? - I used to live behind the Park Hotel - other side of the Metro lines - Do they have regular events on there? Wouldn't catch me at a 100% modern night though laugh.gif but would probably make the trip for old times sake if there is a next time with a Northern room as well..

As far as I'm aware they don't have regular soul do's there, Mike - this was a one-off in association with BBC Radio Newcastle for Children In Need. It wasn't 100% Modern - the main event was in the ballroom (I think it's called) and the music between 7-10pm was a mix of motown/commercial soul/northern played by Paul Wappat as per the Radio Newcastle show he hosts on a Friday night. After 10pm the Northern DJs took over until 1am. The 70's-present stuff was in another room. Not necessarily a night for the purists or the diehards but lots raised and for a good cause...might get a few venturing out to the local do's as a result which is a plus. Decent venue too. :P
