  1. Anyone else experienced postage problems with stuff coming from Anglo or is it just me? Frustrating that an underpriced, and no doubt over subscribed record would go missing in the post when parcels had been landing all week with no delay. no.gif

  4. I offer 2nd class standard mail to buyers as the first, Free, option, but when it comes to checkout I also offer the usual 1st Class Recorded method that most people are happy to opt for, with an explantion of ebay's latest strong-arm tactics to line their pockets. Most people if buying something valuable are happy to pay for Recorded (as they've always done with stuff I send out) as they know there's some trackability and compensation if anything goes wrong. No doubt there will be some people who abuse the system and opt for the free method then expect me to shell out if something goes missing even though they've chosen not to take the recorded option, but in the main I think buyers as well as sellers are sympathetic to ebay's latest stunt and are happy to carry on as normal.

  5. It's all there for a well backed investor with several million quid to invest and a rock solid business plan (as well as a top class web engineering and design team) to really put a hole in ebay's earnings by providing a competitive platform for sellers and buyers to trade, that will convince sellers to shift their auction and store business away from ebay. Problem is, if it hasn't happened already there's probably a damned good reason - ebay's market share grip seen as too strong and possibly music/records not seen as a lucrative enough market to be the focus for a solely music based marketplace? Plus convincing sellers to ditch ebay with it's high visibility in favour of a new, unknown entity may prove the hardest job...mind you, it probably wouldn't be hard to undercut them and get rid of some of their appalling policies in a new selling/buying platform. I don't know, but ebay do seem more and more to be trying to drive sellers away. Dragon's Den stuff, this
