Really nice new Australian soul 45 from Chelsea Wilson - as ever, limited press and apart from Soul Brother think I'm the only UK (and maybe non-Oz) supplier for these - well worth getting on this one. She's also got a good album coming in the summer. One side sassy sister funk the other a laid back, summery mellow soul groove. Yeah, Warren's come in for some stick on this one but trust me, the guy makes next to nothing from these gigs - I think Chaka and her crew cost a bomb and he's put his neck on the line to bring her to his venue: it's expensive for sure but comparable to what it would cost to see her at Ronnie's as Mike says. Some folk (no-one on here I doubt) pay ££££ to see a tiny dot of Kylie Minogue lip syncing on a stage about half a mile away.

Best venue in the North East for live Soul/Jazz acts bar none. Got mind-blown by Gregory Porter there a few months back - intimate, friendly venue: if you're at the front you're about a foot away from these heroes!

Ahead of an album due in June comes this fab little 7" single: one side is a sassy funk dancer laced with a sharp tongued message of female empowerment, the other a gorgeous slice of early morning blissed out soul vibes. Yeah, the main difference seems to be one lot came with a white box with numbers, the other lot came with a white without numbers! Wonder if they did less un-numbered boxes than numbered ones!

There's clearly demand from some people for individual records from the box as witnessed by 3 of my Tammi Terrell 45s selling in a day last week (it was either pay £15 for a legit issue or pay £15 for that minging looking boot on ebay). I'd have preferred to have sold them unsplit as I did with the first lot I had but after buying another 5 boxes from the rep at the same price as the 1st batch, it proved almost impossible to sell them whole as Universal had seemingly cocked up so hard that either everyone who wanted the complete box had one already or the demand for the box had been reached (at least at what I'd have to charge for them based on the buying price from Universal) God knows why- after the shambles of the first run - they issued it again! That said, none of mine had the problems with jumping/skipping as some had reported, or duplicate/missing discs. That said, what a fantastic 7 sides of music, eh?

Is that first clip sped up? Sounds like it's playing at about 2x the speed
