  1. He3 Project — Make It Sweet/We All Have Our Own Lives (Family Groove) NEW £10

Have a small batch of this killer previously unreleased male version of the Coke Escovedo tune 'Make It Sweet' backed with a really nice mellow mid-tempo tune in the form of 'We All Have Our Own Lives'. Released a few years back and pretty much out of stock everywhere, you can find it on discogs for £20+ now...or a tenner from me.

    postage £1.70 UK | £4 Europe

PM or email to soulstacks@gmail.com or you can order through the site here

  2. The Motown 7s box — rare and unreleased vinyl (7 x 7"³ box set)

    SOLD OUT

    Condition: NEW (opened, unplayed)

Beautifully packaged 7 vinyl set of desirable Motown 45s (see track list below)
After reading about the various issues including duplicate/missing records I’ve opened each box to check the contents and all are correct in the (now 5) sets I have for sale. This prevents any doubt and saves having to send back and forth unnecessarily leaving people frustrated and out of pocket.

I've also had the pleasure of playing a set right though (so good musically!) and on my system with a 5(ish) month old black Ortofon Concorde stylus there were no jumps or skips.

Obviously no longer sealed but you’re gonna open them anyway, right? These are records, they sound better if played, not suffocating inside cellophane wrapping icon_smile.gif

  3. Mark just about to PM you

I played through all 14 sides from one of the boxes I've got for sale on the site - as well as being incredible musically I had no issue with jumping or skips. I use a black ortofon concorde stylus, about 4 months old so I guess there could be an issue with worn styluses (styli?)  etc. The Four Tops grooves do seem to wave like hell...maybe it's how the cutter interpreted the sound, I don't know, not an expert on these things...but no skips or jumps here.

Cock ups with duplicates/missing items aside this is a really nice box - when they're all present and correct!

  4. First come etc...

    King Tutt - You've Got Me Hung Up/D-A-N-C-I-N (Fun City/Private Wax) 12" £9.50

Pretty much sold out nearly everywhere now. Ltd to 500 copies, this fantastic reissue beefs up the sound on both sides to bring this ultra-grail to the masses, albeit probably less masses than want it.

  5. Well, from the 'other side' so to speak I've been trying to get some of these to sell on the site for 3 weeks - countless faffing around by Universal - instock, out of stock, none left, 10 left - resulting in an email on Friday from my rep saying there were 10 on hold. I was in two minds about going through with the order given the almighty cock-up but figured I could do what I advised laurence to do which was to suggest opening/checking etc. So having paid for the 10 copies with an assurance that 'they'll be sent for delivery on Tuesday' it was only when I phoned up yesterday to check when they were arriving that one of their drones cheerfully exclaimed that the order had 'failed'. I was like, but I didn't 'fail to pay up, can I have my cash back please' to which they cheerfully informed me 'No, we can't do that, you'll have a credit for the next f*ck up we manufacture'. Biggest record company in the world not sure which one is it's a*rse and which one its elbow.  :dash2:

  6. Very useful thread thanks. Looking forward to this arriving...ordered from Soul Brother Records and had an email today from Laurence in the shop to ask if I minded him opening it to check all present and correct before posting out. "Shipped" confirmation seen so hopefully all good. Great service indeed as this was never going to be just left on the shelf at home still sealed and gathering dust. Records are made to be played.

    Cheers, Steve

Yeah, I can see why people would want it sealed when receiving but in this case - and assuming people are going to open them to play anyway - if a shop opens to check it's ok then it saves everyone's time, effort and money: if they're duff Soul Brother will just return them to Universal for a refund...begs the question what Universal will do with them once received...maybe press up the missing 45/s, reseal and resell? Perhaps that's what they should do in individual cases but it'd be a logistical nightmare pressing a few at a time, maybe? Wonder if these were hand packed?   :g:

  7. I was sweating on getting some of these in to sell on the site: was told on Friday that they'd all gone - sounds like a lucky escape! Bit shoddy for a major label to screw up so royally...amazon can afford to absorb the cost of refunding postage for returns etc but for small shops supplying these and trying to be competitive then having to deal with returns and lost postage costs it ends up being more hassle and expense than it's worth!

  8. Don't know anything about the group but the record itself was always an inexpensive one in funk circles 10+ years back and pretty sure it was one Moerer had stock of. Not a strong club type sound it was one of those 'warm up' sort of tunes. Probably sounds good now - haven't heard it for years.

  9. Shirlean Williams - Ease it To Me (Elvirtrue) VG+ £150

Awesome rare funk two-sider from North Carolina. No 'offers' on this folks, this is as cheap as this copy goes. Plays above the visual grade. Two funk bangers in one here.
