  1. i can remember being at the 100 club in the mid eighties and buying a copy of ty karim "lighten up baby" on romark off Guy H assuming it was the belting 60s gem.I couldn't wait to get home and give it a spin, boy oh boy was i dissapointed! so dissapointed i threw it across the room.Bloody hell i'd just blown £7 on a slow durge of a record, however i did manage to sell it a week later and get my money back  funny how tastes change as i'd give my right arm to own it now and to be fair its probably rarer than the original version.

Has this or similar happened to anyone else?

Wow. Ditto exactly the same story (apart from the owning one now bit). Look at it now

  2. Bring back the late 80s/early 90s , those were the best years for me.

Smaller venues with everyone all in one room.

Plenty of oldies mixed in with 'Newies' and one-offs.

    One big Allnighter per Month/Fortnight

One 'big' local Saturday Soul Night per month per major city - none of this 9 nights per county with under 50 punters per venue.

Promotors who dignt DJ at other folks venues, so you didnt get the "you do mine, I'll do yours".

DJs being brought in from other counties, not just Tom, Dick and Harry from a quarter of a mile away.

Unfortunately none of this will happen until 50% of the 'returnees' feck back off.

See you at Nuneaton for an all in one room event and something for everyone. Especially at 1am :D

  3. I don't think it was going to turn into dick swinging contest  By the way mine is Frank Wilson on original SOUL label :elvis:

Was this topic raised to announce this?

Mines the Dynamic Deadbeats No second chance. Twice as rare as Frank Wilson as only one copy known :) :) :) :) :)
