  1. Feel free to make an offer on anything. I ain't givin' em away but will entertain sensible offers.
  2. Thanks Ian, At least it's another confirmed 'dead end' so to speak. I reckon Weldon brought a few 'ringers' in. Neither Johnny or Luther could recount who the group were either when I interviewed them. The hunt continues.
  3. Hi Dave, Thanks for that Mate. Maybe Ian can clarify the two unknowns? Bob Bosco is currently working on a piece featuring the group. Sure be good to have more info about them. For me, they sort of encapsulate the sweeter side of the Harthon Team's style. I know they were auditioned by Motown but they never heard back. Probably didn't need another four/five man vocal group by that stage eh?
  4. Hi Guys, We didn't amalgamate. What happened is this....when Atom's (I'll respect his anonymity) server went tits up I offered to sponsor a new one. We also rebranded the site and incorporated a link to the Hitsville Soul Club. We also agreed that we could link the music files to any features/articles on the Hitsville site so as to ease the download burden. So... I paid the dosh, he got a new server then......nothing. The site just disappeared after a while. I have no idea why or what happened but I suspect that it became a pain in the arse and the guy either just moved on with his life or had an episode that precluded him from continuing. Many of the members of SS also contributed a few $$ each to keep the site going, which it did for a year or so. Do I feel cheated? Not at all. The guy was a genuine lad and, like most people, I'd used the site for free for a few years and was just trying to keep it going as long as possible. I hope he's OK and maybe we'll see him (it) back at some stage who knows. Plus...the refosoul facility on SS is a great asset. Not as simple as soulclub but with a little patience just as enjoyable. Best, Dave
  5. Ian, Can you tell me who the United Four were? I've seen the Center City video of the remake of "She's Putting You On" and know the group were from Chester, Penn but that's about it. Oh and one of the original members may have been an Albino named Jesse? Any details about the group?
  6. Won't Frank Wilson himself want it? Or was the $30.000 he offered yet another urban myth? I'd like it in order to add to my Motown Demo shelf but I think Bev might balk at having to eat soup and crackers for the next few years!
  7. Sent via Pm on RSF last week Dave. Here it is again though: Marvin___Ill_Be_Doggone___French.bmp

  12. There have been a couple of sales in Japan too. W/Demos though not stockers. Amazing how many of these end up in Japan. I've been offered three in the last year and I've seen ten sell in the last year or so. (It's the one Carla 45 I'm short.) I'll hang on a few more years I reckon.
  13. Hi Jeff, That would be great Mate. I'm much obliged Sir. Best, Dave
  14. Neil, Haven't you got BBC Philharmonic performance of this on acetate? Or am I confused it with something else?

  16. Hi all, Could some kind soul provide me a scan of: Johnny Wyatt - Everyone's Going Mod - Bronco (at 300 dpi and sent to hitsville2648@earthlink.net) Any help appreciated as always. If anyone has a demo for sale I'd be interested too.
  17. Probably the best 'pound for pound' UK label ever as far as NS is concerned. The history behind the releases makes them worth collecting imo. Pete Smith wrote a piece, (when he was a young lad) for Record Collector that recounts John Anderson's involvement in the logo. If you have 20...keep em Mate, get the others and complete the set.
  18. Skyliners - Everything Is Fine - Jubilee White Demo. Mint- (No wol or any other gubbins). Cash or trade waiting.
  19. Great slice of memorabelia Joe. Jinnise? Family connection?
  20. Hey George, Great info, many thanks for posting. It's as I thought, the term bootleg confused.
  21. Still not clear about the term 'boot' in relation to this disc. I'm presuming the fact that the Originals or Motown didn't receive dues is maybe where the term is leading to confusion. What's a fake label? Kitch played an alternate version by The Tempts at Burnley last month. It's a great song that is good to see being played regularly.
  22. What is it a boot of? It's sure fire winner in our house. One of my favourite Norman Whitfield collaborations. It's a great version. Who is it and how did it get a release on a boot label? Any other releases by the group any good? Or have I not understood dexters post?
