- Skip Jackson Deadwax Details
Yep, seen the discogs info and the Cat45 same. Record is not a carver but a vinyl 45. Friend just checked run out with magnifying glass. It's there. 😉 Dave- Skip Jackson Deadwax Details
Hi guys, Could someone confirm the Dead Wax Details for Skip Jackson on Dot Mar. Not been booted on vinyl as far as I'm aware but friend has bought a copy with no deadwax markings at all so just need to clarify. Many thanks, Dave- Anybody else feel like this
Great photos. Great to see a Dad putting himself out there with his lad. It was the same for me with my lad only it was fishing! (I hated it! LOL!). I'd have to get up at 4am on Sunday mornings and lug all the kit to a lake or riverbank and then spend 5 or six hours pretending to be loving it! LOL! Dave 😉- 2 x Dynamic label WDJ Copies needed
Couple of WHITE PROMOS needed. Any help greatly appreciated. The Commands - Hey It's Love - Dynamic 104 The Webs - Don't Ever Hurt Me - Dynamic 109 No wol, smol or any other gubbins if possible. By PM or email hitsville2648@earthlink.net Thanks for looking. Dave- Dena Barnes ... the 'other' 45
Absolutely he should. I was at Masterworks (Old Frankford Wayne) when Pete Humphries showed me the Tape Vault for PIR. It was deteriorating fast! Kenny and Leon were showing no interest for their physical legacy and Pete was flapping over it 'disappearing'. Thankfully a few frantic phone calles to Temple University meant they were rescued the catelogue for posterity but it just goes to show that as people move on their lives, the physical aspect of the music is discarded in many cases. Hope you are well Pal. Dave- Dena Barnes ... the 'other' 45
Andy, When I interviewed Harry Balk he was quite adamant that Dena cut 4 tracks with Mr Browner at the same sessions. As he was paying for those sessions I guess he's a good a conduit as any? He had no idea as to what happened to the masters or tapes though. Best, Dave- More madness. 7dwarfs
The Fleet 45 is a great record and in my experience the tougher of all their records. Dave- Inverts - Time Will Change - Broadway DEMO
It's one I had to 'let go' in 2009 mate and I'm slowly replacing that load back on the shelves. I'll sort it eventually. 😉 Dave- Inverts - Time Will Change - Broadway DEMO
Could anyone please help me out with with a copy of The Inverts - Time Will Change - Broadway Thanks for looking. Regards, Dave- Show us your great photos (2019)
- News: The Four Perfections - The Story by Dave Moore
Yep, my mistake. I thought you were referring to The Ethics on Vent etc and not the ones on the Up Tight logo. My apologies. Looks like the correct info has been forthcoming in the other posts though. Dave- News: The Four Perfections - The Story by Dave Moore
Garage Band? NO! LOL! the Ethics on Vent were led by Ron Tyson a fantastic lead tenor and a pretty good songwriter too. Although not a really prolific group they worked with Bobby Martin, (Wale), Vince Montana (Vent) and Thom Bell (Vent) as well as Baker, Harris and Young, (Golden Fleece). Gamble and Huff also produced at least 1 x 45 on them. Have you got this book? (Bit of a plug here, LOL!) Dave 😉- News: The Four Perfections - The Story by Dave Moore
Yep, different group, the Uptight group were from Reading PA I think. Dave- Del Larks just sold for £10,000
Myself and Greg Tormo did that in 2003 at The Hitsville rare Soul Weekender.... with DEMOS! 😉 Dave- Saxie Russell Wanted
Looking for an unmarked copy of Saxie Russell - Psychedelic Soul - Thomas DEMO Dave- NEW RELEASES... YOU BUY 'EM?
After a 2 weeks Poll I think this can close now. Thanks to all who voted in any capacity, it threw up some interesting percentages. One of the most interesting to me was that 12.5% don't buy a single new release at all. Kinda reflects the way the Northern Scene has gone musically over the past couple of decades? Went to a gig a few weeks ago and instead of a taxi... thought I'd booked a tardis! LOL! No matter to me as I like it all anyway, long as I know what's on the Menu. 😉 Dave- NEW RELEASES... YOU BUY 'EM?
I'd have thought that's always been the case. Imagine the stuff sandwiched between the classics back in the day! Dave- NEW RELEASES... YOU BUY 'EM?
Some good responses that I think show that we, as a group of soul fans, are still delving into the world of 'new' vinyl be it new material or vintage music gaining a contemporary release. Oh and if nothing else.... it gave Rob a chance of yet another plug! LOL! Dave- NEW RELEASES... YOU BUY 'EM?
I usually try and buy all of them. Dave - Weldon A Mcdougall III - Artist of the Week
