  5. On LaBeat W/Demo probably agree. But LaBeat Issue? Loads of 'em over the years. Just the kind of record that disappears into collectors boxes and stays there is all. Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com
  6. Number of years ago I had the ISSUE and The Demo of Larry Clinton in my hands and had to choose which one to keep. I kept the Demo. Never seen another ISSUE. Anyone on here got one? Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com

  9. LOL! That's not collecting then is it? That's a "spot". I could never get mi 'ed round this sort of collecting. Still can't. A collector "collects". A DJ "turns over" records. Me.....I buy records. Don't really do much else wiv' em. Buy em, play em, stick 'em in a box marked "whatever" and move on to the next one! Sad innit!! Regards, Dave
  10. Alun Bell is now living between Tampa and Orlando and is a member of the Hitsville Crew now. If you're up for a weekend of raresoul. Keep checking out the website. Details will be published shortly about the next Hitsville weekender in Orlando. Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com
  11. Could some kind soul email me a scan of this please? Think it was on one of the 100 club anniversary singles. TIA, Regards, Dave
  12. Way I did it was to place them in the sealed container with my motorcycle. If you're shipping a motor, use that Mate. Any reputable Moving company will advise on the methods of shipping "fragile" bits. Insurance for moving records (valuable ones) is horrendous. Hope this helps and Good lUck with the move. If you fancy a weekend of "Real Deal" rare Soul in September the Hitsville Weekender will be a good call. Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/
  13. Any Joy Matey? Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/

  16. Hi all, An opportunity has arisen to contribute to a compilation of Henry Stone's Northern/Rare soul output. Has anyone any hidden gems on the labels they think would suit and that they think should be included? Answers on a postcard please to....... hitsville2648@earthlink.net Cheers, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com
  17. Diamonettes - Don't Be Suprised - Alston Regards, Dave
  18. Hey Up Sid Lad, You heading out my way by any chance? If so....keep some vinyl back Mate. Thee's things afoot this side of the pond now. Good Luck Matey wherever you end up. Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/
  19. Hopefully the prices of the records they "flap" to buy nowadays will recede to more realistic levels cos they can't sell 'em to each other any more. Then I step in and buy all the stuff I won't buy at the moment. Result..... Returnees have had a few years reliving their drug fueled yoof. They're happy! Record dealers have all retired to sunnier climes having made a fortune of the returnees. They're happy! Styrene 45 (Wife), allows Dave to buy what ever he likes vinyl wise cos it's all peanuts now! She's happy! Dave spends most of his time in his "Rekkid Cave" fawning over copies of stuff he knew he'd eventually have, but just had to wait it out a little longer. HE'S HAPPY! Sounds like a plan to me Mate!! Regards, Dave - (Poised to pounce like a coil spring!) https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com
  20. Hi Dave, As someone (along with a number of other dedicated fans), who is spending an inordinate amount of time and personal investment trying to develop a RareSoul Scene in the US I know first hand that there there are young fans starting out that do get duped. I know exactly what you mean, but you have the insight of years of experience. Over here a lot of youngsters haven't. We all gotta start somewhere eh? Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com
  21. Joe, The last time we "spoke" you were selling a Mavin Gaye Bootleg. Very similar description to the Shrine Pressings you are now "peddling". Even with the correct information I furnished you with you still "masked" the origins of the MG item. You were rumbled last year by some of us but you were given the benefit of the doubt by some "trusting" folks.Your refusal to heed well intentioned "expert" advice shows that you are nothing but an opportunist/shyster my friend. I am also here in the US, you are an embarrassment to the fair minded, hard working record collecting/dealing/selling/buying community that you clam to be part of. Get a grip! Dave MIKE/MODERATORS - Sorry for the tone of the posting, but I don't think we should sit back and allow con men like this a free reign. I understand if you wanna get on my case but I feel it's only right to point out these people to other collectors/fans. It's one of the best tools of the forums we now have. Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com ??? Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/
  22. For more Carnival/Manhattans/Joe Evans produced stuff click on the link: https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/articles/...09/art009a.html Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/
  23. https://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-NORTHERN-SOUL-THE...1QQcmdZViewItem Have you no sense of "fair play" Joe? Anyone wanna up the bid to $3333333333.33 Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/
  24. Same old arguements from the same old type of people. Why are original collectors so demonised by non vinyl collectors? Why do modern soul fans so demonise Traditional Northern Soul Fans? Why do non collectors feel the need to constantly defend the sheer accessibilty/availablity of the formats on which they listen/promote the RARE soul scene? It's simple as a vinyl collector: IF I KEEP HAVING TO EXPLAIN IT YOU ARE NEVER GONNA UNDERSTAND! Plain and Simple. Regards, Dave
  25. And I feel I'm particularly adept at the "air" saxaphone too (both alto and Tenor!) In fact I've been known to imitate a whole orchestra whilst "bimbling around" on various dancefloors around the world!! . There is actually a World Champoinships of "air" instruments!! Only in America eh? Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/
